The hotel is good and the staffs are nice but the facilities provided do not match the price. No closet in the room (can't keep my clothes), the bathroom is small and the water from the shower spread everywhere, and the worst it smells unless you turn on the blower. The breakfast is small and the menu is ordinary. Toast is the only recommended starter. For me this is not a hotel but a motel.

Located near Prawirotaman street with a lot of restaurant options. Rooms are a good budget friendly option and staff was very helpful in booking cars and providing information. Lovely architecture, ambience and facilities. Hotel is also only 5 or 10 minutes from city centre. ATM and pharmacy are located nearby as well. Would recommend for budget and solo travellers.

We were allowed to leave our luggage outside check-in and check-out times at the hotel which was very convenient for us. The room was very clean and the A-C worked great. The location was a 15 minute walk from the station. The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious.

We (~35yo Italian couple) loved staying at the Griya Sentana Hotel! It's a perfect place to stay. We slept 4 nights here, but could easily see ourselves staying for a much longer time. As long as you don't have unrealistic expectations (this is not a western 4 star, but I could easily compare it to a 2 star with some 3 star services, my reference is Italy). There is a shopping mall called Jogja City Mall next door. If you don't want to go to Malioboro, the location is good. It's an old hotel, but it has a castle feel to it. The toilet is a bit wet, but it has hot water.

We stayed 3 nights, the common areas were big enough also with a kitchenette available for guests. The area was silent but not the guesthouse, continue noise from other guests starting at 6am. The room was also spacious although very outdated and dusty. We asked for cleaning and the staff accomodated our request. The other main issues were the mosquitos which kept us awake most of the night together...

The mosque is right in front so we couldn’t sleep properly, we were woken up at 4 in the morning by very loud prayer calling. Stayed 3 days at the hotel in a twin room. Hotel staffs were very pleasant and always ready to help. The location is close to city centre and there are plenty of restaurants and street foods all around. A descent mall is just next door. Would reallly recommend for solo travellers and families alike.
