Reviews
Our room was from the 1950’s and felt very dusty and had a very strong smell. We also didn’t have enough towels for everyone and we were told there weren’t any available.
The lobby is very dark, and they kept turning off the AC in the lobby and in the dining room while there were two Shabbat Chatan with over 200 people sweating and suffering from the heat.
To add to everything, one of the owners of the hotel came and screamed at us, told us our children were animals and we didn’t know how to educate them, then looked at my sister screamed at her telling her to not even look at him!
Not sure where this person is but this is Israel not Afghanistan, women have rights!!
- room ample for double-occupancy, but superdusty —if you suffer allergies be ready to sneeze & cough
- Bathtub rusty
- No reg coffee sachettes in room (only decaf coffee & tea)
- Left a hanger on the bed before leaving room. Found it on the floor when i returned
- Only 1 coffee machine in breakfast room for over 150-200 pax
- I had to “repair” breakfast coffee machine (empty trash container) bcs staff would not do it —so we would not have coffee
- In any case, machine coffee seems to be decaf, because after 4 shots of espresso, you can still not feel the kick
- Only “warm” (room temp) red wine at table for meals. If u want white wine you have to ask x it & the petition needs to go up the waiters’ ladder to be approved (it takes a few minutes)
- other than that, staff friendly & helpful
Now for pros….
- Close to the old city , 15 mins walk to Damascus Gate
- 4 good elevators, ample & fast ; 1 regular during shabbat hours
- Working air con
- bathroom water pressure very good
- Room gets done everyday & towels/toiletries refreshed —but obviously not dusted/vacuum
- Good & abundant breakfast & meals
