BV Grand Hotel Assisi in Assisi

We arrived at night, and in the room, only the entrance light switched on automatically. The floor and desk lamps were unplugged and had to be plugged in the dark before switching on. The floor lamp had no switch and wouldn’t turn on after getting plugged in.

Bedside lamps had switches. Garbage can was under a head level shelf. Almost seriously injured myself throwing something in the garbage when I hit my head - room 314 & 315. Protrudes from the wall as you enter the narrow foyer to the room. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

Toilet bath has a water closet and bidet, when you sit down on the toilet seat, your chin is only 5 inches from the sink. You cannot stand straight from sitting on the toilet seat because you’ll hit the sink. Very strange layout and difficult to maneuver in. Amenities consisted of some kind of unnamed liquid soap on wall of bath and above the sink. Paper cups for water and shower caps completed amenities provided. No facial tissues provided.

Electric outlets available on both sides of the bed and complimentary bottle of water still and sparkling were available. No kettle or coffee fixings. Safe and mini fridge provided in room.

Folder containing introduction to hotel services was grimy and so were the contents. This cannot in anyway be a 4 star hotel. Lady at reception was efficient but unsmiling.

Dinner was at their Giotto restaurant, lasagna entree was not even as good as the one we had at lunch in the simple rest stop cafeteria . Main course of breaded fish and side of beans was tasteless.

I hope breakfast will be better tomorrow.

Expecially bad internet connection… and it is a congress center. Impossible to have remote access to meetings.
The rest is ok.
