Easily the worst place I've ever stayed in.
+ Bugs in the bed
+ Dirty bathroom with no toilet paper
+ Feral cat IN the building lobby close to my room
+ Terrible breakfast, which I wouldn't normally care about, but it's easy to get great pastries in Italy.

I booked through Zen hotels. Both the hotel and this platform have awful customer service and did not acknowledge the terrible situation.

Nice access to the beach. However, in the one night I stayed the power went out at least every 15 minutes. So the WiFi was dosconnected, the air conditioner would shut off and I couldn't even read my book because the lights went off. Not to mention at night before bed I killed a huge cockaroach and many ants in the room..

Good place if you are interested to go to the beach or sightseeing, nearby important city like Catania and Taormina. The beach and the sea are beatiful. Nice also the rooms, very confortable and tidy.

I looked for a hotel near the beach and ended at the Costa del Sole. It is a bit of a strange hotel, it seems like a relict from the eighties or nineties. The hotel has potential, but can not yet live up to its standards.

Pro

Location is nice near the beach
Rooms are spacious and well refurbished
Friendly reception

Con

WiFi is not stable, a lot of disconnects
Restaurant next to the hotel is quite bad, work to for Gordon Ramsay..

Verdict: pleasant hotel for a reasonable price.. Still in the build up phase before the high season starts. Work to do in the garden between the hotel and the beach.

We stayed in this hotel for 11 nights and it was the worst 😫 experience ever.
Very poor breakfast, dirty, bad location, 👎 and you can see the garbage all. Dirty street and dirty beach.
This is very sad.
They have no respect for the environment 😕 😪 .
I don't recommend this place at all.

They accepted my booking. When I arrived at 21:00 the gates were closed. Nobody answered the buzzer nor the phone. Was calling and pressing the buzzer for 30min and gave up. Filed a chargeback as their customer service hasn't been replied for weeks. Does not even worth 1 star.

After reading all the reviews, I was surprised. Hotel is good, clean, with air conditioning, fridges. Literally 20m from the hotels beach, service included. Food really nice, good choice of main courses and starters. Helpful staff, looking after guests. Thank you guys

This is the a joke not a holiday destination! This is because everything is wrong there. The hotel is rough, the beach is common with dark sand looking dirty, average nothing special, dark sky, the people that come there are not demanding and looking lost like there have never been on holiday before, there is not enough care for guests. The staff there is not trained to be in customer service all. Very big attitude like you should not disturb them. Nobody there speaks English. Receptionist doesn't know the prices upfront. Bathrooms are for refurbishment. electricity was playing up, tv and internet not working most of the time, rooms basic, The food served there is not Italian but Polish that is completely not suitable to the environment and climate, we were served hard boiled eggs with mayonnaise every day, all the dishes were jar dishes from local supermarket just taken out to the big plates on the spot and served without any preparation. No fresh coffee in Italian Hotel! The staff is 90% Polish with no any experience in hospitality or bar and restaurant service. I don't know how this hotel works...Coffee machine serving coffee that taste of water. But the most funny think was that all food was gone half way trough the time of food served bracket.Indicates that people were starving there and eat whatever there was. We went out to buy some food at the local shops, that was a real experience when everybody looks at you, my partner held my hand as he was italian and told me that the area looks doggie and not safe and asked me to not ever leave the gates of the hotel on my own. Staff said that this Polish guests were eating too much and thats why there was not enough food for everybody... To me in such case food shouldn't be all served at once with direction eat as much as you want but personally to the guest on his arrival. At 7am food was served and all gone by 7:30 so if you came at 9:00 there was not even bred. In my opinion hotel didn't buy enough of food and not the right variety that was nutritient enough to feed its guests. To the point that people were queuing in front of the main entrance so they could get some food... What holiday is it when i can not sleep enough because i have to mind hunting for food. I would compare this hotel to hotels in communist time in ex soviet union countries. Thats the impression and feeling at this hotel. stronglu not recommended. For a price of 1 night at this hotel you can buy yourself a week in one of the best hotels in centre of Catania including breckfast and nice coffee, restaurants in centre of Catania are cheap and serve nice fresh food. Unfortunately this hotel in in the middle of nowhere, even locals could not tell us where to go to buy any food. Ridiculous place. Not worth my tim, doesn't deserve any star.

We are not impressed by the hotel at all. The photos do not give an accurate impression: the rooms are adequate but the bathrooms need a lot of attention and the sofa beds are too small and uncomfortable. Other facilities are functional but basic, and several areas need to be tidied up.

The main advantage to being here is the long, wide sandy beach which is only a five minute walk from our room. The sea is very shallow for several metres, so it is ideal for families with young children. Free loungers and umbrellas are available to hotel guests.

The biggest disadvantage, however, is that the hotel is in a residential village that is totally isolated and far from the attractions of Catania.
To the airport: 18km
To Catania centre: 22km
There are very few facilities in this area - one small shop and one pizzeria at the neighbouring lido - and there is no convenient public transport to Catania or to the airport. Taxis are expensive and difficult to arrange, but the hotel can help with transfers to/from the airports.

Relaxing at the hotel is impossible. At every opportunity, they create maximum noise and fuss. For no obvious reason, there is a dj playing loud music on the hotel beach in the mornings and beside the pool in the afternoons. In the evening there is similar entertainment which is to be expected, but on one occasion the disco continued very loudly until 03.00.

Breakfast is a standard basic Mediterranean buffet, supplemented only by cake. There is no fresh coffee or juice. Instead, coffee comes from a machine and carton juice drinks are avalible in jugs. There is no black tea.

Food at the restaurant is only average. The cold buffets are good, but pasta is never ‘al dente’. Meat options are very limited, and we have seen no fish at all. Only one type of fresh fruit is ever available.

The pool is very small and not suitable for poolside relaxation. It is better suited to children who are usually the only ones in the water. The bar, meanwhile, is small but well-equipped, except that it is often unstaffed or attended by inexperienced friends of the hotel.

Service is generally impersonal and, although not unfriendly, it is far from welcoming. Of all the guests at the hotel, we are the only non-Italians here. There is little effort to include foreigners in the hotel experience which makes us feel like we are imposing.
