Hotel Hydra Club Hotel e Village in Casal Velino

We start from the check in which was scheduled for 15:00 but once we arrived we waited for them for 3 hours under the sun, when at 18:00 they handed us the rooms my room had not yet been cleaned (dirty toilet, sand nice shower , unmade bed, bottles of water) all from previous guests. When we went to ask for explanations, one of the owners (the son) told us "okay but I have started giving you the rooms so they are not ready yet". So the first half day at sea is already lost. We stayed in bungalows which consisted of a double bed (two singles attached) plus a single bed, bathroom, TV air conditioner and fridge, a fairly dated room with a lingering smell of mold. To reach all the services such as restaurant bar, swimming pool and sea we had to make a very fast and uncomfortable climb as the asphalt was all rough in fact a guest fell and broke the tibia and fibula transported urgently to the cardarelli. In mockery at Covid, meals were served as a buffet and then in the restaurant an endless queue, all huddled together and most without masks. The shifts for eating were either 13.00 or 13.30 for lunch or 18.00 or 18.30 for dinner IN THEORY but in practice it was that those who arrive late badly stay in when after 10 minutes from the opening of the restaurant it was already almost everything all done. The beauty comes on Wednesday when we are going to go to lunch but we discover that the kitchen had been CLOSED FOR NAS INTERVENTION !!!!! at that point they divert us to their restaurant which is located up in the village, but once we arrive there we realize that simply the food of the village had been put in the car and taken to the restaurant, at which point we go on a rampage and decide to go away and not eat anymore also because after the NAS surgery there was no longer any confidence to eat that stuff there. We contact GB VIAGGI and after being extremely rude and rude they offered us a measly 30% refund. In addition to this, a "Village" was completely disorganized without any kind of organized excursion or rental for various amusements. maybe they are from some other village ". To conclude I can say that the only positive notes were the breathtaking view that there was from every corner of the village and the animation without which this week would have been hell especially Nicola the village chief.

I simply wouldn't go back.
Rooms: everyone moves because nothing is as expected on vacation. The cleanliness of the rooms leaves something to be desired. Dated bungalows.
Sea under the structure not very accessible and dangerous.
The adjacent beach is dirty and full of algae and too close to the port (doesn't it depend on the structure? It's a disadvantage anyway).
Animation guys kind but not very experienced apart from a couple of dancers.
Management needs to improve a lot.
Holidays, after a year of work, are sacred.

Very nice location but structure to be fixed in terms of comfort. I stayed in July, three members staying in bungalows. The bungalow accommodation is not suitable for elderly people and families with very young children as there is a very steep downhill stretch along the path to reach the refreshment points (at whose height there is the swimming pool and the area dedicated to evening shows ) and a series of about 50/60 steps to reach the bar and restaurant, if you want to avoid the steps you have to walk a further uphill stretch, making the path or towards you will find yourself facing a steep climb that can be lightened by using the steps of the 'amphitheater.
Let's move on to examine the various areas of the structure:
Restaurant
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet style, in the morning they offer slices of orchard and croissants, cereals, yogurt and a salty podium. At lunch and dinner the proposal is between two first courses including one based on fish as well as for the second. Many vegetable-based side dishes. For children, both lunch and dinner they prepare plain pasta to which sauce can be added, for second courses sometimes cutlets or cordon Bleu, in a few occasions french fries. Available to please customers with gluten problems or intolerances but they had organization problems even if the staff gave their soul and went out of their way to please the customers.
The pool
I would say acceptable even if on the panoramic side the flooring was a little bad and dangerous.
Amphitheater sufficient to accommodate most of the guests.
Bungalow
Where I stayed it was in fair condition, enough for three people some flaws detected but promptly fixed by the maintenance staff.
Beach
Access to the sandy beach was possible through the shuttle service or a short steep path (not suitable for strollers and not recommended for the elderly as it is possible to slide), at the end of the path a very short stretch of stones. It is located near the port, the shoreline is in sand, perfect for children, clean sea if you don't catch the algae.
Solarium
It is an area close to the rocks, where there is a splendid sea but difficult to bathe, a quiet environment.
For the return from the beach shuttle service or alternatively the path I mentioned earlier or take a stone path that runs along the sea (about 150 meters) to reach the solarium area near the swimming pool and the bungalows.
Animation
Engaging but not intrusive.

Personally I have not had major problems, the conformation of the complex creates some difficulties but not excessive (not being elderly and not having children with strollers).
It seems that in recent years the structure, due to Covid, has not been operational, the sudden reopening did not allow a complete check-up, the potential is very high thanks to the splendid sea in front of the structure. Overall, I express sufficient judgment and I do not feel I can advise against it.
