Villarena Relais in Nerano

We had our wedding here. The entire staff did an amazing job! Location was gorgeous, facilities were beautiful and historic. We had everything planned out perfectly by the staff. Having never visited this area of Italy before we would highly recommend this property for a wedding. We had a lovely ceremony, live music for 2 ½ hours, cocktails and appetizers, all arranged by Mariateresa and the staff. Just perfect

We did not stay at Villarena Relais, as we had a villa booked a little down the hill. 6 of our party decided to take the cooking class with wine tasting and it was AMAZING! From the ease of the reservation with Maria to the very end of the evening, it was completely seamless. Maria arranged for a driver to pick us up and return us home. We were met with a lovely glass of homemade lemonade and out came Guillermo to take us on a tour. Guillermo was a true Italian gem! He gave us a tour of the gardens and told us a bit of the history of the region. We ate the grapes off of their vines before entering the historic dining hall. Guillermo led us through a few tastings of wine, which were all delicious. After the wine tasting, Giovanna led us through our cooking class. We made our own gnocchi and eggplant parmesan! All the ingredients were super fresh. Giovanna was very thorough and a wonderful instructor! Guillermo never let our glasses go empty while we were cooking! The sunset and the views were breathtaking. At the end of the evening Guillermo led us through a dance with instruments and the whole staff took part. I have to say, the day before we had a lovely private boat to Capri but I think this experience topped it! I HIGHLY recommend this experience at Villarena Relais. It's worth every euro!

We absolutely adored staying in this charming and intriguing Old World villa with breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea! The bed was super comfy and we awoke in time to catch the sunrise from the balcony outside our cosy room. Breakfast was amazing! We would certainly return the next time we come to the Amalfi Coast.

My husband and I booked this hotel for 2 nights as part of a tour of the Amalfi Coast. This hotel is not in Nerano Centre. It is over a mile up a steep winding road in a small village which has little in it. We booked a basic double room. This was our fault, we should have looked into more what we were booking. On arrival we were shown our room. It was like a motel room, in a kind of pre fab unit. I was absolutely gutted I won’t lie. Although it was clean and had everything we needed it was not a room you would wish to spend any time in. I asked my husband to look at alternative rooms but they were over £400 a night at that point so we decided to just make do. We decided to walk down to Nerano. Oh my goodness the walk is treacherous to say the least, took 20 minute, not the safest path and we are fit and healthy. Once was enough! We got the bus back. The positives - The girls working in the hotel are delightful and a real credit to the hotel. We booked dinner on the second evening and met the owner for the first time. He was definitely aloof and kind of threw the bread plate down beside my husband. There was only us and another couple dining. I felt on edge. The food it must be said was absolutely gorgeous! The best we had in the whole of the Amalfi Coast so credit to the chef. My husband started talking to the owner whose english wasn’t great and neither is our Italian so I do think a lot with his attitude is maybe communication issues. He got friendlier as the evening went on and even gave us free coffees and desserts which was so appreciated. Would we return? To stay yes but boy in that room but to dine? Absolutely

Absolutely brilliant experience. The hotel was unlike anything we’ve stayed at before and was very clean our whole trip. The staff were amazing, Maria in particular gave us great recommendations and always had a smile to welcome us with. We arrived very late due to our flight being diverted and our room was set up with clear instructions on how to get there. The food was incredible in their restaurant ( I recommend the ravioli!) and it’s great to see the vegetable garden where all the fresh produce comes from. We had a very relaxing trip and will definitely be back! Thank you to all the staff who made our trip perfect, and special thanks to Ginger the cat who we loved spending time with!

What truly sets this place apart is the host-unbelievably kind, helpful, and welcoming. From sunrise over the sea to quiet evenings under the stars, this stay was unforgettable. A hidden gem on the Amalfi Coast!

I booked two rooms at this hotel for a four-night stay with extended family. The location in Nerano was excellent—set in a tiny, quirky town that feels surprisingly untouristy given its proximity to the beach. The village itself is full of character, with a network of narrow alleys connecting everything. Each evening, locals gather in the small central square near the restaurant, creating a pretty unique atmosphere that oozes an Italian/beach vibe. There’s a restaurant in town that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Its outdoor seating is located across the main road from the restaurant itself, which means the waitstaff are constantly weaving through traffic—a slightly chaotic but endearing detail. The spaghetti alla Nerano was outstanding, and the staff were warm and friendly. The hotel is made up of a series of small apartments, all of which were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The terraces offered stunning views—an ideal setting for enjoying a bottle of wine with your group in the evening. The hotel also has its own restaurant, which serves excellent traditional Italian fare. We dined there twice during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. The staff were consistently kind and attentive, making sure we felt welcome and well cared for, especially in the evenings. Nerano is also a convenient base for day trips to Capri and the Amalfi Coast, including Positano. We used a local boat service that departed directly from a small dock at the beach. The walk down to the beach was pleasant, though the return uphill climb requires a fair bit of stamina. It’s not ideal for small children or elderly guests. We used taxis for those in our group who preferred not to walk, while others took it as an opportunity for a bit of exercise. Overall, this is a fantastic little European hotel in a cool, slightly off-the-beaten-path Italian town. We would absolutely stay here again if we find ourselves in the area.

This is a hidden gem in the Amalfi coast and the small town of Nerano Masso Lubrense.The accommodations are great as well as the views, the pool is a nice touch after a day of sightseeing. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs and the food and service is excellent Guglielmo is the best host and very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. A boat ride along the coast is a MUST. I am honored to call him my friend and will continue to return and recommend to others Grazie BC

This was an amazing bucket list experience in Nerano , On the Sorrento Peninsula in the Amalfi Coast! Dreamy views, and tasty wine flight awaits you! Everything was perfection& the price is excellent ! We had a group of 8 & were treated to: a short tour & the rest was relaxation & eating tasty bites & wine! Charcuterie board of Italian delicacies, 2 kinds of pasta, dessert & lemoncillo all tasted excellent! A MUST DO in Amalfi!

We felt very comfortable and peaceful in this majestic property, full of history, gorgeous views and years of loving care and dedication to upkeeping the grounds, gardens, and rental units. We read our books in the sun under the lemon blossoms in the afternoons after a morning stroll in the surrounding mountains on day; walked down to the beach on the next; generally greatly enjoyed this wonderful area. Our place was super clean and very comfy, we had everything we needed. The restaurant is homey and excellent.
