Shatush Hotel in Courmayeur

Unfortunately Shatush didn't live up to some of the photos, the breakfast was not what you needed for a hard day's skiing on one of the most challenging ski resorts in Italy, no hot food just very basics, unless you pre-ordered it the day before which we only discovered after we complained. The location was good for a short walk to one of the ski lifts, but be aware if you have a car and you park it in the hotel carpark and you get a lot of snow, (You will definitely need snow chains) to be able to get down the hill and back up. The local authorities do try and get the roads clear in the mornings but there is no chance in the evening as the side road do not get cleared again until morning. The hotel was very quiet, the rooms were warm and cosy, great views of the Skyway and Monte Blanc, nothing to do in the evenings in the week, but we were told that the hotel comes alive at the weekends, there is a restaurant about a 5 minute walk to where the ski lifts were, but that was it unless you could get into courmayeur centre which you could catch a bus or taxi.

I love a club, but this one is painfully loud, and the drink token system is inefficient and slow. Saw 2 DJs on 2 nights, one was very good, one was just OK

Modest facilities.
Booked an evening meal with the hotel on line, but discovered that it was not open that evening. Recommended local restaurant within 8 mins walk was excellent.
Breakfast mean - no fresh rolls and little choice. Guess we were out of season!
Word of warning: depending on your direction of travel to this hotel, Mont Blanc Tunnel is completely closed from 2 September-16 December 2024.
Ultra convenient for Mont Blanc ski lift.
