Hotel Baia d'Oro in Licata

This hotel does not really deserve the 4 stars it had put on the building. We stayed there for 9 nights.
This hotel offers great food, we must congratulate the cooks on their good work. The beach was clean and it is a nice sandy beach.
This hotel is a place I surely will not come back to. They try to rip people off but in the end the curent price versus quality ratio is not what we expected. The rooms are poor, the beds are horrible, many other people also confirmed they do not sleep well. The pillows are cheap and bad. The bathroom looks old, cheap and sometimes there was a bad smell when you enter the bathroom /even if unused during the last 6-8 hours/. The reception area i.e. the lobby looks old and cheap. The people who work in this hotel often do not speak proper English (one of the receptionists does speak English well and seems to be working normally, so "cheers" to her). Working Italians not speaking English is something people often come across in Sicily. Some people from the staff are really unwilling or not welcoming enough. The animateurs /animators/ were great but they are not hotel staff actually, it is a separate company working at this place. It was clean though, this is a plus. The area around the hotel is nothing much. They charge a lot for the beach , even though we did pay for the room plus breakfast and dinner /and for a long stay/. The Spanish and Turkish hotels usually do not do this. In Greece this also did not happen. There are no cards for clients to enter the area, or to enter your own room.

I have been travelling last 17 years around many countries including Italy 🇮🇹 ,
But i have never ever seen things like what I seen in this hotel,
First no shops or restaurants or any shopping centre close this area,
We have charged for pool and beach I never seen anywhere like what this all should be part of packegs.
We had to pay for car park.
We had to pay for WIFI and it was so slow not even working some place,
My biggest issue was on Manu no English language so accidentally I ate wrong food what I shouldn't eat.
I can't say the staff was bad they wasn't they were friendly but in general hotel wasn't great location food almost every day the same.
Also in Bath room from first day we didn't have hand washing soap until we left after 1 week I will never vist this place again even there is no place in this world

Gorgeous sea. Very beautiful beach. Unfortunately stray dogs.💩 Beautiful structure, but 20 years behind the times. Like the bathrooms. Wooden shutters, broken or without handle! Room entrance door that can be pushed down with a shoulder. Very noisy refrigerator. Dining room, without acoustics, no more noisy, enough to cry! Cafeteria ! If you want to relax, Licata ugly is isolated from everything, therefore not a tourist place. If it didn't have the shop inside the structure, it would be even worse. The swimming pool is beautiful. Everyone should learn to greet, except the waiters, who are polite and kind people. It's a shame because the view of the bay is remarkable, but there is work and fixing to do!!! Strength and courage!!!
