Hotel San Carlo in Marina di Pietrasanta

I book one month in advance by phone and by exchanging emails with the hotel and they confirm my reservation. Upon arrival, it turns out that there are no reservations in my name but they give me a free room they had. Entering the room I am surprised to find a bidet in front of the shower, all separated only by a curtain from the rest of the bathroom. Rusty faucet handles, weird stains on the sink cabinet and the miraculously maintained towel rail. Also on the ceiling there are large spots of mold. I requested a room change as there were photos of a normal bathroom on the hotel page. My request was not satisfied as they say all the rooms had a bathroom like that. I requested at least a lowering of the price since the room did not correspond to the photos that the site has put. They did not want to lower the price in the least and I found myself in an uncomfortable situation, as I had to look for other solutions in a very short time. I ask how much is the room for the night because the next day I would have left .. total 163 euros for 1 night in these conditions! Shame on you! Never again! I don't even recommend it to my worst enemy, rather I sleep on the beach.

Hotel not recommended. Garden overgrown... Rooms run down, old-fashioned. Staff unfriendly... Food took some getting used to and served carelessly.

Friendly and kind staff, rich breakfast, strategic hotel location with a splendid view of the sea.
The structure itself would need a good arrangement, especially the bathrooms that don't even have a shower tray.
The only thing I can complain about is the fact that I "stolen" a pair of shoes left in the room after my departure.
Surely it was my oversight, but mistakes happen. What shouldn't happen, however, is the lack of seriousness on the part of those who should ensure that the staff does not "pocket" the lost items.
After paying for a room extension, I left the hotel around 8.30pm, and called back the next day around 7.30am when I realized my shoes were gone.
The rooms had not yet been arranged (according to the reception) and yet the shoes were never found.
A single "excuse", even if appreciated, I don't think it's enough rather check your staff and make sure that nothing is STEALED from customers!
