Albergo Palazzo in Santa Cesarea Terme

Tired hotel in need of updating. Website says it has "direct access to pool" but this is not true - it is a public access pool that you have to pay to use. Very misleading. Also says it is 4 star but there is a plaque at the hotel saying 3, which is much more accurate. Room was dark and dated, shower very small, breakfast terrible. Our friends stayed at a similar priced hotel 5 mins walk away which was clearly 4 star and had a private pool, so look around!

My sister and I were very disappointed with our two-week stay at the 4-star Albergo Palazzo.

- The shower only runs very cold (there's no lukewarm water either)
- Balcony doors are left open by cleaning staff when it's 35 degrees Celsius
- Air conditioning runs 24/7, with no way to turn it off
- On some days, the air from the air conditioning smells of feces; once, the entire hotel smelled of it
- The toilet bowl leaks on the floor
- Unfortunately, the staff isn't particularly friendly either; you're never greeted or seen off at reception.

We're not complicated at all and were looking for something simple. However, the photos on the website don't match what it actually is. It's definitely not a 4-star hotel!

We won't book it again.

Good location, near the ocean and just beautiful. But if you don’t speak any Italian or something similar, the staff and people in town will be annoyed by you, and they‘ll let you feel it. Not much respect and patience from them

This was the worst hotel I have ever experienced in my entire life! It says 4 stars but it's not even worth two. The bed was the most uncomfortable ever. The mattress was completely worn out, the pillow was hard as a rock. We slept there for 4 nights and got back and neck pain after only one night. I have a history of neck problems so I asked the staff for a softer pillow. They said they would bring it to our room but they never did! ! ! So I used the towel to 'sleep' but left this 'holiday' with severe neck pain that will last for weeks! Then talk about the bathroom, the shower was so tiny it was impossible to move and the water pressure was unmissable. The wifi didn't work the ENTIRE stay. But we needed internet and the website said wifi was available. There were several notices in the hotel stating that the WiFi was not working. They were already looking old so this didn't seem to be a short-term problem. One day the elevator didn't work. The breakfast was worse than in a hospital. Every day the same, few and inferior products. Our floor smelled horribly like rotten eggs due to the thermal bath right next door. One evening there was a really heavy storm, rain and thunderstorms. Our room's windows were closed, but they didn't seal tightly, so both rooms (bathroom and bedroom) were full of water! Unfortunately, my luggage was in front of the window, so that all my things in my opened luggage were completely wet!!! We paid around 530€ for 4 nights, which is a price where I do NOT expect ANY of the mentioned circumstances. Honestly, this "hotel" is way worse than any cheap hostel or motel I've ever been to!
