This hotel is completely over rated! The food is horrible and the free alcohol is watered down. The pools are not heated including the hot tubs. Everyone smokes everywhere. The beach has no sand just sharp rocks. There is no adult pool even thought their website states it’s an Adult Resort! Babies and kids everywhere. No Concierge service and limited elevators.

Overall, we had a good experience here. One problem was the shower size. It was very tiny. Maybe 3 ft by 3 ft. Also, it's not a flat walk to the city center. Expect to walk up and down the hill. We're in good physical shape so the walk was not bad at all, but if you need assistance or a wheel chair, this could be a problem.

Good location, a 3 minute walk to downtown. The included parking is convenient since it is otherwise difficult to park in the area. Watch out for traffic if walking out of the property, specially with children, since it is near a busy intersection with no walkway. Property has a restaurant and a nice swimming pool. We were happy with the beautiful location, helpful staff, good breakfast options, clean rooms and great shuttle service. The rooms were fairly basic and our shower didn’t drain very well so the tray filled with water while using it but we had no major issues.

We loved our stay at Hotel Borgo Di Santa Barbara. We went to visit Tropea but were relying on Public Transport to move around; considering that, the location was not SUPER IDEAL, but the neighborhood is quiet and well lit so walking was not an issue at all and it made the rest AMAZING! Located a few minutes from the center of Tropea and 10 'from the beaches, it offers studios equipped with all comforts. Excellent value for money. The only drawback there is no liquid soap (perhaps due to anti-COVID rules). Staff very kind and helpful.

Nice Hotel and Rooms, good location within easy walking distance to town and train station. No toiletries or slippers provided though they are stated as included. Borgo di Santa Barbara is a family-run wonderful hotel which offers large comfortable well equipped rooms with sea views, a swimming pool, a restaurant and bar, an awesome free morning breakfast presentation and is an ideal spot for relaxing or exploring this beautiful region of Calabria. My general experience was around or a bit below 4* - the hotel location is okay (close to the centre and to the railway station, but no nice views around), old but clean furniture, comfortable beds with uncomfortable pillows. It is accessed via a large door which leads to a courtyard and then a set of steps takes you to the apartment itself. The room was a decent size, clean and secure. The instructions sent from the hosts made it easy to find and to check in. Our apartment was spacious and clean, with everything we needed for a short stay, the large bed was particularly comfortable. A bonus was the large rooftop terrace, where we had a few drinks and nibbles each evening before dinner. I would definitely recommend this apartment if staying in Tropea.

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. We did have a few hiccups with the breaker resetting while trying to cook dinner one night but our host came over the next day to check it out. The area was really nice, just remember during the off season they’re aren’t as many shops and restaurants open.

Our family spent five beautiful days in Tropea. Christina and Michael were excellent hosts, we had booked two rooms, but on arrival realized we made a mistake selecting a room for the kids with only one bed.
