Residenza Donna Giovanna in Tropea

Only halfway through our stay here, but I don’t think I could stay anywhere else.

The location is perfect - right outside your door is a Main Street with shops, restaurants, and a fantastic view just at the bottom of the hill.

Our room is on the top floor and pictures don’t really do justice. We have a nice balcony area with a view of the piazza, a nice skylight in the bathroom, and a great aesthetic as you come up the spiral stairs. Only downside - if you are at least average height, make sure to duck. I hit my head on the rafters on one side of the room a couple times.

Service is top notch - Emilio and his mother, Lina, have treated us like family. I can’t say enough about how easy it has been with them hosting us. Every morning, we go down to the breakfast terrace where we have to say stop because the food keeps coming 😅.

If you haven’t been to Tropea or you are coming back, you cannot go wrong here.

This place is a true gem in the heart of Tropea – just like Tropea itself is the pearl of Calabria. The accommodation is run by incredibly kind-hearted people who put all their love and dedication into what they do. From the very beginning, you can feel a warm, family-like atmosphere that makes you feel at home rather than just a tourist.

The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with great attention to detail. It’s a perfect spot to relax – peaceful, charming, and full of warmth.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking not just for a comfortable stay, but for a place with soul and heart. We’ll definitely be coming back!

One of the best accommodation experiences we have had in 35 years of travel. The owner, Lena, treated my wife and I like family, and nothing was too much trouble. She even organised to retrieve my wife's suitcase from the airport after it went missing on our flight from Australia. Rooms are large, well-appointed, and extremely clean, great breakfast and it's all in a perfect location...

We are still here but I had to take a moment to write how exceptional our stay has been here so far.
The family not only goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect but they provide service beyond just a stay ensuring comfort at every opportunity. It will be hard to stay anywhere now that I have seen what true service is. Thank you Lena and family you are stars! I look forward to our last two days.

I was really impressed by the apartment with a beautiful sea view. The staff were very kindly, friendly and helpful for giving us more informations about Tropea habits.
The breakfast was medium. Not so diversified.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful family running it and close to the beach. Fell in love with the quirky artwork. B&B is located in the hub of the action, plenty of restaurants and shops around. Hotel is bright and clean and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend.
