The rooms, gardens and facilities are recently renovated and kept in immaculate condition and are stunningly beautiful! The private beach with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas is situated right in front of a separate beach bar and restaurant, which makes it convenient to spend your day there without wanting for anything

The water is so clear that on calm days you would swear it was glass. The pool area is well organized, with separate areas of loungers if you prefer some quiet time during the day

Every year we visit (this was our third), the food experience gets better and better, with an incredible variety of foods prepared by chefs that results in what feels like a truly elevated experience over many other resorts

There are a few changes since the property changed ownership this year but we were thrilled to see all our favourite staff are still here and that the rooms and grounds are better than ever

Hotel Tropis is great! It is clean and the rooms. 4 minute walk to train station. Short walk to city centre and the beach. The pool is great and relaxing environment

We stayed in a room with a sea view, a gorgeous view. It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but acceptable. The only thing is that there was no free water in the room

Big rooms and nice pool I would have given 5 stars but our AC was broken... Hotel is on a hill so expect to walk a decent amount into town. The shuttle is $30 to the beach.

We came there at 9AM and the room was already ready so we could immediately unpack and go to the nearest beach. Three main things considering Calabria : 1

You MUST have a car if you don't want to have a hicking vacation (even to the nearest beach you have 20 min hardcore hicking, use rentalcars app and do the booking online, for 10 days new Fiat Panda 2018 is 170 euro normal insurance 320 premium insurance) 2

We went to visit Tropea but were relying on Public Transport to move around; considering that, the location was not SUPER IDEAL, but the neighborhood is quiet and well lit so walking was not an issue at all and it made the rest AMAZING! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the place was clean and the breakfast was very complete, we loved it and would definitely go back! Strongly recommend!

The front desk people were very helpful and patient. We were very close to downtown and could buy a converter just a few blocks from the hotel. It is a nice property with cute balconies

The hotel is on a very good location in a small village Santa Domenica which is located just next to the main city in that part of Calabria - Tropea

It just so happens that the sea right across from it has a sewage line and walking towards it from under the bridge was a nasal nightmare

It was a nice stay, everyone was friendly and helpful! The rooms were clean and very nice! We liked that it was walking distance to shops and restaurants, which were really good ! We thought the beach was accessible by walking , so we went through this area off the parking lot but quickly figured it was not part of the resort

You can book a shuttle to take you there and back though and it is definitely worth seeing! The food was good, but we did go off the resort for authentic Calabrian food which was amazing! There wasn’t much to do on the resort , especially during off season when it’s a little colder

The bathroom had terrible ventilation and smelt like stale water. We could also hear the people above us moving around so loudly and when we asked to move, the lady said she’d organise it tomorrow and never did

There is cute little shops and great restaurants, and the area is busy in the evening as well! Overall it was a great stay and Tropea is beautiful and there are a lot of nice places to see !

The staff was absolutely amazing. Pierro was so hospitable and kind. The buffet dinner and breakfast was top notch. The shuttle transfers were very convenient. Graziano was a friendly driver

The air conditioning in the room was so loud and controlled by reception so we could only turn it on or off. We tried to call reception but our phone wasn’t working

The family who owns and runs the hotel is incredibly welcoming and their hospitality really stands out. Everything was also very clean and well taken care of. We had such a wonderful stay and would love to return someday

We stayed for two weeks in July. Quiet place, five minutes by car from Tropea and within easy reach of all the most beautiful beaches in the area from Capo Vaticano to Zambrone

You can relax by the pool or head to Tropea beach, which is just a short drive away. The breakfast each morning was delicious with a variety of options, many of them homemade

The rooms were nicely decorated, spacious, and clean. The restaurant on the hotel's property was nothing short of amazing. It was our chosen spot for both breakfasts and dinners while staying at Borgo di Santa Barbara

Restaurant serves great food, excellent breakfast. Dinner is open to locals and good value with an excellent reputation. Our room was in the main building with balcony views of the pool and ocean

We loved our stay at Hotel Borgo Di Santa Barbara. Easily communicated with hotel manager Martina throughout the duration of our stay through WhatsApp - scheduling transit and shuttles from Aurelio (staff)

Staff amazing - super friendly and helpful, transfer to beach/town so appreciated. Ate at the hotel one evening and it was good and plenty of food. Would absolutely return and recommend

The room has a fridge with a bottle of water, also a very well stocked kitchen, the bathroom is stocked with towels and sea salt shampoo and body wash

Located a few minutes from the center of Tropea and 10 'from the beaches, it offers studios equipped with all comforts. The only drawback there is no liquid soap (perhaps due to anti-COVID rules)

I don't have enough stars to give to Stefania and her hospitality but also for the nice and detailed taste for the furniture and cleaning The room is as you can see in the photos, cleanliness is at the next level

This was an amazing stay at an amazing property, in such a historical building, it was very important for me to have a view from the historic Tropea Skyline, the room was very comfortable and big, there is air conditioning, some review said there wasn't, there is definitely air conditioning

Ornella truly went above and beyond to make my stay perfect — she prepared fresh coffee and breakfast for me each morning, kept my room immaculate, and even made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy Tropea to the fullest

She was always checking on us to be sure we had everything we need it since the time we arrived to the moment we had to leave. Great location, right in the middle of shops and restaurants. And the view was to die for!!

I had a fantastic stay at Blu Tropea! The location was extremely convenient, making it easy to explore the beautiful town. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, and my room was spotless every day

Because of this we did not use the pool at all and we love to hang at the pool and not just the beach

The fridge was stocked with food and drinks each for a small charge. The location is great: 10 mins from beach and 5 mins from a supermarket about 15 mins from the town centre

The fact that they are located close to Tropea, they have a shuttle to the town center and to their private beach. I loved the pool and the pool bar - it was all molto bueno! I hope I can return

This is a very unique hotel, it has a real 70s vibe however, don't get me wrong it also has a real charm. From the elevator down to the beach, to the tropical plants, to the hand paintings to the live music at night

The village is situated near the beach; it is really tidy and amazing! The village is nice and well done! There is also a pool. The food and the service are not the best! The village is a little too expensive!

This was our second time staying and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The food at the beach bar is excellent — great quality and reasonably priced. Our room by the beach had stunning views and a lovely terrace

The natural surroundings are fantastic, and I really enjoyed walking down to the beach from my room, admiring the various plants and flowers along the way

The only issue was with early morning access. We had to leave at 7am and found both the beach and hotel gates locked, with no one at reception and the access card we were given not working

Very nice beach, with a great view of Stromboli, close to Michellino Spiaggia (5 minutes by car). The only note for wifi and the reception - could have been a bit better

We stayed at La Taverna for 5 nights in late June. The room was clean, the area was quiet. The swimming pool was perfect, not crowded, and the beach was at a walkable distance

Relaxing holiday par excellence. Clean and comfortable room, helpful staff, excellent and varied breakfast, good dinner, excellent meals for children, there is a varied menu which is ok

This was an awesome place, and the view was great. the only thing was it has almost 50 steps down to the residence.

Very good in all respects. The only flaw, for me that I use a wheelchair, the outdoor spaces have slopes with very steep slopes which somewhat affect safety and autonomy.

Shall we talk about housing? We stayed in the villas facing the pool, we were told that the decor is a little more dated than the apartments above but we didn't believe up to this point! Shaky fridge, kitchen curtains all detached, a broken garden chair, a wardrobe drawer that opens only after closing the doors, a fixed bathroom shower with barely warm water and only at certain times because otherwise...

Luckily we met a group of wonderful entertainers who made our holiday magnificent, non-invasive but always ready to satisfy our every request, making us all feel like a big family! PS: pay attention to the price, comparing ourselves with other guests we have discovered that for the same treatment there are those who have paid even 3 times less

I was really impressed with the chalet I had. Two bedrooms and a kitchen area. I could have used more seating in the kitchen living area. Service was excellent, efficient and friendly

Before coming, we were worried that the hotel is not on beach and not in the center of Tropea , but it wasn’t a problem at all, as it is still close to the seaside and it takes just a few minutes to get there by car, or especially with the transfer provided by the hotel, it is very convenient and easy, the bus is modern and the driver is very nice! Everything we wanted a vacation near the sea, so a good beach was a priority, not far from some city, cleanliness and a good view. And fortunately we’ve chosen the La Bussola so got everything we wanted and even more

I stayed in the resort for a week with some friends. This is a very large structure with everything you might need for a relaxing vacation: comfortable rooms, a private beach (with bar), restaurant, pool, gym and so on

They have no luxurious amenities in the room. The furnishings are inexpensive, plastic soap holders and plastic trash can old sheets that are thread bare and rough, towels that are worn and stained we had to ask for new

No towels at the pool or at the sub chairs. You have to rent them daily from the desk if you need towels. Inexpensive plastic bag of shampoo and bar soap

Headed up by Augustine, the Hotel Director, all of the staff were just so welcoming. By the time we left at the end of the week we knew many of them by name. Giuseppe and Mimo in the Bar in particular were just fabulous

The chefs in the kitchen were rightly proud of the speciality dishes they presented. The pasta every evening was without fail, delicious. Luana on reception was warm, friendly and helpful

Tropea is only 10 mins away by train and it is well worth spending the day exploring there. The one thing that struck me about the Hotel was the friendliness and warmth of the team

Peaceful outside of entertainment hours which suited us well There were a couple of things which would have made our stay a tiny bit better, but certainly weren’t a major issue

The train service is excellent and far exceeds British Rail. The Trenitalia app is excellent and well worth downloading and using to save you the queues at the ticket machines

Only one restaurant with limited options that barely change. they should be ashamed trying to pass this off as italian cuisine. Do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else. Also the property has no beach

the picture is very decieving. you cant swim in those coves, its just rocks with a bit of water. you can go left or right to try an swim but this stretch of beach is all rocks regardless

Parking is tight, and the road to get there is “slightly” a one lane that supports 2 directional cars, all part of the adventure…. Go slow and remember you are in Italy! We had one snafu which was expensive
