Vintage Hotel Tornese - Business & Events in Cecina Marina

The Vintage Hotel Tornese - Business & Events was a complete disappointment for us! We booked a “De Luxe” apartment with a side view of the sea... In the photos on Booking.com, there is a balcony with a side view of the sea, so I booked this apartment. When we arrived at the hotel and realized that the “De Luxe” apartment did not have a balcony and the sea view was only through two dirty windows, I went to the reception and to Booking (which has not responded to my emails to this day)... At the reception, I was told that everything was in order and that the side view of the sea was only through the window... In the photos, you can see what a wonderful view we had. In addition, there was no minibar in the apartment. It appeared because I plugged my cooler bag into the outlet where the minibar should have been, and that was on the fifth day of our stay! There was no water or glasses in the apartment, the bathroom already shows clear signs of age and deterioration, the door is completely broken, the bathtub, which is supposed to be a Jacuzzi, doesn't even have a non-slip floor, the Jacuzzi valves are completely moldy, and the shower was a joke because instead of a shower stall, we had a plastic curtain that stuck to my body when I showered and sometimes almost caused me to fall. The breakfast, advertised as “intercontinental,” was limited to sliced bread, a type of sliced cheese, and a type of sliced ham. Sometimes there were scrambled eggs with bacon, sometimes just scrambled eggs or bacon, and boiled eggs where half of the egg was still soft.... The toaster had space for up to six slices, but the first two slots didn't work, and it wasn't automatic, so you had to keep an eye on it to make sure the bread didn't burn. The juices were limited to orange juice and multivitamins, a few slices of cake and croissants were also part of the “Intercontinental” breakfast... Some cereals and yogurt were also available, but unfortunately, it was the same thing every day, with no variation, except for the lack of bacon or scrambled eggs. Therefore, it is difficult to believe the positive comments I read here on Booking, which influenced me to book 15 days at this hotel. As for my complaint, every day I asked for the hotel manager so I could show him the discrepancies, but he was never there. Only the receptionist dealt with complaints, but unfortunately, she did nothing to change the situation during the days we were there. I do not recommend booking for a long period of more than two days. It is acceptable for that, but not for a long stay. Even then, check exactly what you are booking, because the photos show things that do not exist. In my case, the balcony with a side view of the sea exists, but unfortunately it was not made available to us. See the photos.

Hotel is in the perfect location by the beach with outstanding restaurants. But the hotel staff were never happy apart from one lady who did the admin and helped us with booking a taxi to the airport, but everyone else looked unhappy or sat on their phone the whole time. Breakfast was minimal and not replenished; we noticed cooked breakfast if you went really early, otherwise burnt mini crossaints and dry cake was on offer. The rooms are ridiculously tiny for two adults, needing to share a small double bed. Bath was a half size compared to standard. Bed sheets were blood stained and carpet rarely hoovered. NO air conditioning allowed in the hotel rooms because apparently it wasn’t hot enough at 30 degrees. So we had to sweat all night or sleep with the balcony door wide open; so great security! The hotel is very dated, like stepping back into the 80’s, which isn’t a huge issue, but the small bed, hard mattress, no air con, sweaty tiny rooms was an issue for us!

The hotel I advise against cleaning poor,air conditioning not working...I think that we'll come back only if I had to pay a euro
