We stayed at Hotel Lo Stambecco and overall the experience was below expectations.

The property feels quite dated and somewhat neglected, clearly in need of renovation. The rooms and common areas are very basic, and cleanliness was not at the level one would expect. The food and breakfast were also quite average, nothing particularly memorable.

The only real advantage of this hotel is its location — right on the ski slopes, which is very convenient.

On the positive side, the staff was extremely polite and helpful throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated.

Overall, while the location is excellent, the quality of the stay does not justify the expectations.

If you want to stay high up on the mountain, like a Rifugio, but with all the luxury of a hotel, there is nothing better! Three-course dinners with fine wines, a private spa with a sauna, hot tub and candlelight, a lobby with a fireplace, live music, and leather armchairs. Vibe from the last century and professional, friendly, and truly service-minded staff!!! Starry nights, sunrise over the mountain at breakfast, and 'first tracks' every morning… ❤️ /Mr Lars

I have been calling for 3 days to have informations about the hotel and to make a reservation, but nobody answered until i insisted calling and they finally answered (very unprofesionally). On booking.com and other platforms, it was possible to reserve but despite this, the answer was "no there is a mistake on the websites, we are closed until october the 30th, go somewhere else".
I am putting 1 star out of 5 on everything as i can't put less.

Location is very good for walking the mountains , but rooms are not clean!
Mold in showers, severe moisture damage to floors, very old place and feeling. The worst part was the food - food is bad , low quality lame taste, lukewarm dishes if not cold. The antipasti buffet is a certain germ trap. Got food poisoned.

Avoid ! I usually write god reviews- this place is just simply bad- especially compared to other options near by

No price or location are worth while the food poisoning that will cost you at least a day.

Hotel at 2550 meters reachable by cable car or gondola free for its guests ... the structure is dated but in the process of partial renovation ... we took advantage of the half board and we can not complain .. the buffet was varied while the portions a little small but in line with those of the bistro in front of the hotel ... the rooms a little dated but very clean and comfortable beds .... the staff really kind makes you feel at home ... from the hotel start several paths and the position is truly enviable .. in the middle of nature ...! For those who want to take a trip on the day of departure possibility to leave the luggage without problems! We will return ...

This is a review of the restaurant: avoid! Bad food, small portions, overpriced. Truly bad and expensive - we were a group of 6 and took different dishes. It was different in the past, my recent experience of April 2025 will make it avoid it forever.

Saw a lot of reviews, didn't care and went. Results .. Yes the romms are a bit outdated, but clean and good beds, every day new towels. Kitchen is good, not really fine dining but that you can't expect in a 3star hotel. Varied and good buffets. Staff is very kind, not everybody speaks English but they do their best. Location is 5star. Duirectly on the slopes, at 2600m. You can start ahead of the crowd ! Will we go again, 100% for sure !

We booked without reading the reviews (a mistake I will never repeat!!), only driven by the idea of being on the ski slopes. And that is really the only positive side of the hotel... but you can't pay €280 per night to stay in an old, poorly maintained structure with a cuisine that is practically "canteen" or self-service! I know that there are renovated rooms, but we ended up with a room that was not renovated, with broken/cracked bathroom tiles, the cork covering of the bathroom missing in some places, a chair in the room, at the small desk, that seemed broken and with torn fabric, the blanket on the bed that was probably clean, but so old that it certainly didn't give that impression. Not to mention the carpet on the stairs, dirty, worn, broken, full of dust ... wires coming out of the wall, routers hanging from the ceiling ... It's sad to write all this because the location is unique and the staff is kind and helpful ... but they should really close, fix the entire structure and then reopen a little renovated and cleaned !! Despite the location, I have no intention of returning!

We stayed for a week in February. Rooms are a little cramped, but they do include a two person sauna in each room, which is awesome to ease / head off aches and pains. Food is excellent, with a wide selection. Staff are warm and friendly. Its good for kids and adults alike.

Wonderful Staff, Terrible Hotel
Should be a 2 star hotel not 3.

Pros:
- Ski-in, ski-out
- Great, friendly staff

Cons:
- Old, run-down hotel
- Poor quality food in the restaurant
- Flies in the bedroom
- Bedsheet and towels are low quality linen cloth
- Had no hot water for showers through-out stay
- Cleaners came into room despite a Do Not Disturb sign on door
- No kettle, iron or safe
- Lift was often broken
