TH La Thuile - Planibel Hotel in La Thuile

Lovely apartments, clean and modern. I am particularly fussy when it comes to cleanliness and was so relieved when we arrived. The apartments had just about everything we needed. Other guests complaining about the temperature of the rooms turn the thermostat down and open the windows. Simple. I asked for a south facing room and we got exactly that with a great view of the slopes. I was travelling solo with my 3 children age 6, 9 and 11 and found it very easy to get around and everything was close to hand such as shops, deli, restaurants, lifts, ski school. My only gripe was that after booking the hotel put up the prices for the pool. €15 for me would have been grand as the kids would have been free, but then we were advised that for children under 12 the cost is now €9 each. So it cost us €41 to use the pool (we bought our own hats, towels and flip flops). They clearly don't want us apartment peasants using the leisure centre! That said, I will probably book the apartments again for next year as it was very easy to self cater, it was great having the apartment facilities & it still works out a LOT cheaper than the half board hotel package that includes free pool use even when factoring in food etc for the week. Also to mention the brilliant TH Land club which is essential for the single parent! I used it twice for my younger two in the afternoon. It cost €7 for each child from 2-5pm. They watched a movie and had popcorn and hot chocolate and I got to ski a little more with my older son. The option was there for whole day care including ski school drop, pick up and lunch though if needed. Staff seemed nice, just pity the club is in a remote windowless area of the hotel. Arrived on an early flight and room was ready early which was great. Notified by the app which was very handy. Room - Very modern and alot better then places we have stayed in the past. Bathroom- Lovely modern nicely decorated bathrooms fully stocked with shampoo, shower gel and lotion. Nice suprise. Also 2 toilet paper in each bathroom. Hairdryer provided and works very well. Soap at the sink too! Kitchen - Small as expected, with 2 ring induction hob. A lovely suprise meal provided of pasta, sauce, onion, garlic and oil. Lovely touch. Would have quite liked a bit more dishes and bigger pans as there is no dishwasher you are constantly washing glasses and cups as you only get 4 of each. Beds - we let the kids have the bedroom so they could go to bed early and we had the sofa bed in the living room which was surprisingly comfy. Large balcony, good for storing skis and although at first I thought we had access to the boot room, I realised I didnt miss the bedlam of the morning ski boot room. Shutter blinds can be noisy when you hear people opening them but nothing ear plugs wouldn't sort. Not ski in ski out but very close. Shop close by and a little takeaway/pizza place. Amazing childcare provided by Crystal ski. The girls are amazing with the kids and have made the holiday so much easier! Would have gave 5 star if there was a dishwasher :(

We stayed one night here on the way to France. We had a family room that came with a kitchen and a separate bedroom.

The bathrooms, there were two of them, were on the small side but overall it was a perfectly serviceable room with loads of storage.

The sofa was a sofa bed but realistically you probably only want to use it for two people as I'd imagine it'd get a bit cramped over a few days particularly during skiing season.

It was quite nice that there was ample parking underground.

The property is both a hotel and a residence. While it’s a bit outdated, the rooms are clean and quite nice. The only downside was that the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. Overall, it was still a good stay.

This place was AMAZING. The area was beautiful and comfy. Rooms were cozy and noice. Only issue was that room service as lakky and didn't really do much to my room when I gone so that's a down side but overall 4 stars.
