Arthotel & Park Lecce in Lecce

We arrived to be told that indoor pool was undergoing maintenance and outdoor pool was shut because of the weather. We were given a very helpful demonstration of spa facilities at a price for us. As guests we felt a bit in the way and second in priority to maintenance activities. The young lady on reception was very courteous and went a long way to try to appease our disappointment in limited facilities at this time. Grounds seemed a little tired. In breakfast room Giovanni made a great effort to look after us. As we went to breakfast on our last morning we had to walk through the access door to our wing of the hotel as maintenance was being undertaken to the false ceiling. We had difficulty pulling our cases through rubble and past a ladder to check out. Could work have been done a few minutes later or when the hotel was less busy? I suffer the illusion that the maintenance can be planned better. A shame as we expected better from hotel website.

Beautiful hotel, stylish and modern, looked amazing great swimming pools which were closed. The Italian season does not start until 15th June and 16 of us arrived for a leisurely relaxing chill out on a TUI tour to find the pools shut, the spa very difficult to find or book and didn't open till 1pm. Communication in this hotel is appalling. No menu's to be found in the rooms or even on the website. There was one brochure on reception in Italian so we had to scan and translate only to find the therapists were not available till after 1pm and we couldn't ring, email or contact them to see if they had any availability. The man on reception although trying to be helpful spoke little English. The bar was very rarely manned as staff numbers seem to be an issue, the bar staff were also the restaurant waiters. Very friendly and pleasant but could not be in two places at once. The food is very good but there is an undying issue with timings of food, some of us were received desserts at the same time as others had their main. The Risotto was one of my favourites and I think we all enjoyed our meals. For some reason although added to our room bill we never knew how much anything cost and dint know until we came to check out. Breakfast was good and the Rooms comfortable although our air conditioning didn't work on our first night and it was 32 degrees, The place is swarming with mosquitoes so be prepared to be eaten alive so take your repellent. Location is 10 minutes out of town a 35 minute walk or a 15 euro taxi ride. So your a captive audience once your here. There are no surrounding bars or restaurants as this seems to be located in an industrial site. If you book here before the 15th June pool facilities are shut, you will be allowed to use the loungers around the pool but no towels will be on offer, the bar won't be open and you will be told off if you so much as pop a toe in the pool. Did I feel welcome here not at all, the staff worked around you, banging and climbing ladders preparing for the Italian guests to arrive. It was tragic because if we had been able to use the pool and have a massage and even complimentary transport into Lecce this could have been a wonderful experience, which sadly they just don't seem able to provide.

When we arrived we found that the Restaurant was closed for the 2 nights we were booked in for and the outdoor area and pool were closed. So we drove into Lecce for dinner. Returned hoping to have a drink in the bar but it was CLOSED at 20.45 only open in the morning!!
Tv in room had no signal and no one answered my call to reception to query the problem with the tv. All in all totally unsatisfactory 😡
Would not recommend staying here.

We booked this place with the intention of spending a relaxing Xmas. Our suspicions were raised when advised at the railway station that it was not within town maps; confirmed as the taxi too to the dual carriageway out of town and deposited us at an industrial estate. The 'hotel' had no dining facilities other than breakfast (7-10) and dinner (7-10) including a wine list of 5 bottles of red of which only 3 were available. To improve access to food and drink the nearest taxi was said to be a 40 Euro return trip. We stayed the first of 5 booked nights but the room was of a really poor standard (no bedside lights/ tables only an overhead heatlamp....) and not at all what might reasonably be expected. We both rejected the served evening meal which was inedible and checked out the following morning. Do Not stay in this place, unless it seriously improves and you then, only then, wan to beat yourself up. Absolute hell and such a shame for the workers in this place.

Arrived to find out the outdoor pool, restaurant and bar are closed for both nights of our stay!! There’s no way this is a 4 star hotel, rooms very plain and tv and air con needed someone to come up to fix it. On the outskirts of Lecce so not walkable to find restaurants and bars, totally unacceptable service or lack of !

I had a terrible experience at this 4-star hotel. The service was dreadful, and the rooms were infested with mosquitoes to the point where sleep was impossible. Despite informing the reception, they offered no solution or compensation, not even a drink. On top of that, we were forced to pay city taxes after enduring two uncomfortable nights. I'm extremely frustrated with their lack of response or management. I will never return to this hotel, and I strongly advise avoiding it. The breakfast was also disappointing, far from the standard of a 4-star hotel: just water and juice with croissants.
