Masseria Montelauro in Otranto

We stayed for a couple of nights at Masseria Montelauro and wish we could have stayed longer. The girls have the place running like clockwork. Everything at the hotel was impeccably clean. The staff in particular the young girl who got us our drinks and nibbles in the evening were friendly, hardworking and efficient. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The food in the evening was exceptional quality. Drinks were served with olives, nuts and biscuits which was a nice touch. Early evening drinks were served with a delicious canapé spread, on the house. The pool and pool area are beautiful. Definitely recommend this Masseria, price point is particularly reasonable for this quality of stay. Well done ladies for making this a warm and inviting place to stay. We will return for longer next time.

My favorite place during this visit to Italy! Everything felt just right- the pricing, the quality of the decor and room furniture, the dining food, the beautiful and generous breakfast, the friendly staff. I loved the fresh picked fig basket they passed around the pool and the complimentary appetizers at sunset. The guests that we met were down to earth and friendly- some families and some couples. It is near some great towns and the price of transfers is reasonable. Otranto for shopping , Castro (my favorite!) . We did boat tours from both. My only feedback is that the choice of tour operators for “experiences” they recommended were some of the priciest I’ve seen- and we’ve travelled a lot. We used Eneo for one of our boat tours and it was underwhelming (and unfriendly) and twice as much as the private tour we booked ourselves in Castro through Trip Advisor. I would love to return to Puglia and this Masseria Montelauro!!

Such a lovely place. Really calm atmosphere, simple decor, and a nice pool surrounded by shady trees. Delicious local food, and it's lovely to eat under the vines. We also appreciated the advice they gave us about places to eat locally, and the fact that they made reservations for us. It's very near Otranto which is a nice small town with great restaurants and bars.

We stayed here for the first time this year (2025). The masseria is close to Otranto so very easy to go to the town and we really enjoyed our stay there. Our room was beautiful - a high arched brick ceiling, a very large bed, good screening for dressing and clothes storage, comfortable seating etc. The grounds were very well cared for and the pool area was great. The restaurant offered a good breakfast and we had two excellent evening meals there. Highly recommended.

My review is only for the restaurant, as I didn't stay at the property. The restaurant was fantastic! We had such a great night, the food, the wine, dessert, all delicious, and the service, outstanding. Highly recommend it!

Heaven. Everything about the hotel is a wonder. The owners know exactly what they are doing. Everyone in their team without exception is delightful ~ nothing was too much trouble no-matter who we asked in their team. The hotel itself is stunning. The restaurant is outstanding. They took care of me, my wife and 4 month old son brilliantly. We truly found a gem and we absolutely return another time

My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of July 2021 for 3 nights. The property is absolutely stunning, with perfectly manicured details wherever you look, and lovely cozy rooms. The grounds are peaceful and serene, and feels completely detached from the rest of the world, despite being only 5-10 mins drive from Otranto (a very beautiful and lively town worth visiting if in the area). The restaurant is lovely with great choice and variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But nothing compares to the incredible service and hospitality we received during our stay - thank you Marta, Giuseppe, Pierpaolo and Renato for going above and beyond to make us feel so welcomed and relaxed during our stay. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful peaceful masseria. Lovely restaurant and pool and staff very helpful. Nice and quiet location but still easy to drive to the beaches and otranto

Wonderful staff, owner on premises is very friendly, rooms nicely appointed and luxurious, pool in a relaxed setting with fruit trees and friendly cats and dogs hanging around. Plus, a very talented, but shy, chef in the restaurant who prepares excellent local cuisine. I very much recommend the Masseria Montelauro.
