Piccolo Hotel in Milan

I came to Milan for the first time, and found this place appalling.
It's very outdated, the carpets need to be sorted on the stairs. Rooms are tiny, and the shower is even smaller. The bed (you might as well just sleep on the floor it's that hard) and the pillows give no support.
Breakfast is a shambles( selection of meats, some bread, 1 type of cheese, yoghurt, fresh fruit and cereal) yoghurt being the best thing.
When I arrived (Monday evening) the receptionist was helpful the rest weren't really much help.
TV is the size of large tablet.
But worst of all is the smell of sewage that I could smell. Was rancid.
Also the plug sockets are shite as well wouldn't work with my travel adapter.
I hope with this review and previous ones they sort things out as it could be well worked and run

Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. Unfortunately, we did not sleep well as the room was uncomfortable. The toilet was extremely small — it was almost impossible to use the bidet because of the lack of space, and moving around in the bathroom was very difficult.

The area around the hotel was also very noisy, even with the windows closed, making it hard to rest. On top of that, there were mosquitoes in the room, which made the night even worse.

The biggest problem was the air conditioning: when turned on, it was extremely loud and water kept dripping from it. We called the reception for help, but the only suggestion was to put towels on the floor, which ended up flooding. The bathroom drain was also very slow, making showers unpleasant.

Breakfast was very basic with no real options, and the staff was not welcoming. In the morning, we spoke with an older man (possibly the owner), who only said “sorry” and promised a better room next time, but without any real concern for our experience.

Overall, our stay was terrible. We would never return to this hotel and we do not recommend it.

If this was the only hotel left in Milan to book.....ì wouldn't, its a terrible hotel. We had no option as we'd been let down by an Airbnb scammer and with it being Grand Prix weekend places were thin on the ground. Let's start with the star system. Allegedly this is 3 star. Now I don't know who did that review or when but it doesn't even merit 1 star. It is old and tatty and in severe need of an update. Room was shabby with gigantic old air con unit that sounded like a jet engine. Curtains were hanging off the track, furniture was old. Breakfast was a poor buffet. We had need to complain in the middle of the night about the noise coming from the rooms above and staff could not have cared less. Who I am assuming was a poor excuse for management was super rude the next morning when we mentioned the issue to him. For your info the rooms also look out on to one of the biggest night clubs in Milan: 55 Milan which has an open roof terrace playing pounding music until 4am, which the hotel fails to point out in their blurb. So in a word my advice would be if you are looking for an up to date, well furnished, nice hotel with pleasant management absolutely do not book this appalling excuse for a 3 star hotel.

Really horrible staff, thieves!! It was cold at night and despite my advance payment they didn't let us in because my cousin didn't have the physical document but only the photo since she comes from America, they treated us like dirt, moreover it's full of unsavory people
