Rivalta Life Style Hotel in Salo

Bad experience, 4 stars is dreamed of and 3 stars is a stretch. Don't take the elevator. Poor cleaning, insufficient and poor quality breakfast. But how are the stars awarded??? Too bad because it is really close to the center and the lakeside.

We also booked it based on these reviews.

Unfortunately we had to find out that the hotel is right next to a very busy roundabout. I just don't want to use "earplugs" as many have described. Not for the price and also not for a 4 star hotel!
That means either you close the windows in the evening or you accept a restless sleep. Especially the many motor scooters are very loud.

Hygiene was mediocre. When we arrived the room was rather dusty overall.
The bathroom is ok. The towels are always changed clean.

The lake view is somewhat obscured by trees and houses.
But the way to the promenade is relatively short, which was positive.

The staff is friendly and tries hard, speaks partly broken German.

What didn't work was the breakfast buffet. We even know 3 star hotels in Italy that serve far better quality. Standard goods such as jam, butter, honey, Nutella etc. were all in plastic. The coffee had to be squeezed out of a dizzy standing machine. Black bread and ciabatta was the only variety that was offered. And you don't know how to refill either.

What also really bothered us was the constant requests at the front desk to turn on the air conditioning. It turns itself off automatically every day. So if you forgot to ask, there was standing heat in the room. Even with closed windows and doors. The device could not be regulated either. On off. That's it.

Parking issue...
"Free parking" is capitalized here. Again we were negatively surprised. Exactly 2 parking spaces (two !!!) are available for ALL hotel guests.
Anyone who didn't make it to one of the coveted parking spaces has to be satisfied with the very expensive city parking spaces, and they charge 1.50 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

All in all, the negative aspects outweigh the negative ones and we don't quite understand why so many people rated it so positively. It is best to research twice and maybe read through the negative reviews.

We will not book again.
