Loved my experience staying at Palazzo Sovrana and dining at Doba Restaurant. Room and cleanliness were great, topped off my an unbearable location.
Was fortunate enough to meet and chat with Paola (owner) and Domenico (chef), who made us feel like locals.
Glad I made the decision to stay at Palazzo Sovrana instead of a usual hotel.

Upgraded our room on arrival. Room was large, well appointed. Had 3 balconies with fantastic view of theatre. Only complaint is they have many tall beautiful windows, but no blackout curtains. It was like daylight in our room with all the street lights. They allowed us to checkout late to accommodate our afternoon flight. Breakfast was very hectic. It was at a small cafe nearby that was totally crowded. There were no tables to sit at, difficult to order as no one spoke English. I think you only get croissant and coffee. Taxis cannot come direct there so you will have to walk a little.

Wonderful place to stay. Comfortable, clean, beautifully detailed. The room facing the Opera House are fabulous.
The hotel is located in a pedestrian zone where it’s easy to walk about. The taxis cannot pull up to the door, but that is the routine for any pedestrian zone. High ceilings big bright windows. Lovely Bath. Great air conditioning. Can’t go wrong with the quality of this boutique luxury hotel . Great spot. Highly recommended. Tons of casual restaurants in every direction.

Paola welcomed us with warmth and special attention providing every info and inputs to make the experience unforgettable. You can have a generous delicious Sicilian breakfast to the bar in front facing the beautiful Teatro Massimo, but the real Maximum experience is the dinner on the rooftop at DoBa Restaurant, run by the chef Domenico Basile , Paola’s husband and wonderful host! What an incredible place to stay! First time in Palermo from NY and we picked the BEST place to stay. Communication was wonderful from start to finish. All staff were very friendly. Rooms were extremely clean. Views of the square and Teatro Massimo were beautiful. We had 3 apartments and each had 2-3 balconies per room. Air conditioning worked great. Cafe for breakfast right outside front door. Elevator was great for my parents and everything was within walking distance. Taxi spot across the street and took us to Mondello Beach 20 minutes away and was beautiful for a beach day. Highly recommend

Breakfast was a real highlight – served in a lovely café with plenty of options to choose from and a truly magical view.
As for the property itself, I’m left with mixed feelings. The location is excellent, with a direct view of Teatro Massimo, and the staff were friendly and professional. They explained clearly how to park the car and were responsive whenever I had a question.
The room itself was rather standard. Perhaps it was my oversight, but it did not exactly match the presentation of the specific room on Booking – the photos seem to be a mix from different units. The rooftop terrace was unfortunately not accessible during my stay. The balcony overlooked a side street, though you could still see Teatro Massimo from it.
Maybe I’m being a bit picky, but after traveling across Italy (and Sicily in particular), I find some of the additional charges unnecessary. A supplement for a small dog and another one for a late check-in at 8:00 pm (which I was informed about and paid) felt a little excessive.
Overall, the place has potential. With this price range, however, I think there’s room to refine the atmosphere and make the experience more in line with the expectations that the location and presentation naturally create.

What a great place to stay friendly staff , they set up a great ride from the airport , the cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in, location perfect so many food destinations around & the staff texted us a list of the best oh and the restaurant on the fourth floor was amazing , so many attractions all within walking distance.
