Hotel Bosone Palace in Gubbio

We have stayed twice at this hotel, once in the summer and once during the holidays. The staff were outstanding. The accommodations clean and the most comfortable beds in the three places we stayed during our vacation. The breakfast is delicious. We stayed in the basic room the first stay and it's very plain and basic. We stayed in the nicest rooms the second stay and they were outstanding. We liked the location as it was quiet and yet accessible to all. Our friends weren't such great hill walkers and were a bit fatigued walking the hills to the hotel. But they would have missed seeing some of the most beautiful parts of the city had they not had to walk back to the hotel. They also took taxis.

Mr Mencareli is a visionary and a great advocate for this lovely town. His hotels and restaurants bring out the very best in Gubbio.

The place itself is fabulous, with old wooden beams and floors. The desk clerk, Julia, was so helpful and nice and friendly. The breakfast room is gorgeous, along with the yummy breakfast. I wish we had stayed there longer. Location was perfect. I would return in a heartbeat!

Overlooked gem.
Beautiful medieval town with modern amenities and great restaurants. Free parking is available in the garage by the cable car.

Hotel Bosone Palace had an outstanding location right next to major sights of Gubbio. The staff was super friendly and helpful and had upgraded us to a room with a terrace with views to the valley without asking. The breakfast was great, served in a room coveres with frescoes. I woud definitely stay again!

OMG what a find! After checking out of a previous place in another town early because it wasn’t in a great location and not very nice we booked this last minute. We could not have been happier! Super quaint location and building with well appointed rooms. The service made it for us though, they went out of their way to help with bags, out of hours food and wine service and location advice even though only 4 stars and we didn’t expect it. English was great but their attitude to welcoming us made this feel like it was our own personal palace. If you get rooms in the 4th floor you will have amazing views over the old town. We could not believe the value for money. The restaurant Bosone Garden was lovely, the food great and quite possibly the best cocktails we have had in Italy so far. Gubbio is a fantastic spot for a few days (the Funivia that takes you up the mountain was so much fun and the kids and adults loved it. All the restaurants in the town were great full for the business and super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our kids which made the overall visit to the town even better. I’m a harsh critic usually but this hotel and its staff all blew me away with their genuine service. The breakfast is lovely with beautiful home made cakes and pastries and the room it’s served in is quite spectacular. Thanks for having us!
