Hotel Corte Contarina in Venice

I strongly advise against staying at Hotel Corte Contarina. The staff’s behavior was unacceptable and made me feel unsafe. The receptionist became aggressive and verbally abusive toward a friend of mine, shouting and using offensive language in front of other guests. The situation was so threatening that I decided to leave the hotel immediately.

The room for 3 people (2 separate beds + sofa bed) did not match the confirmed booking. The beds were pushed together, and the extra bed was squeezed into a tiny space, making the room extremely cramped and uncomfortable.

The bathroom was nearly unusable – the water temperature was either scalding hot or freezing cold, and the water pressure often dropped to zero. Many other guests have also reported similar issues in reviews.

Overall, the experience was extremely stressful and disappointing. Between the misleading room, dysfunctional facilities, and aggressive staff, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

First night they gave me a terrible room I couldn’t sleep on that night because of bed , they put one of the bed on uneven floor( two bed base was on step )and there wasn’t any space to move it
Room was for 4 people air condition wasn't be able to cool enough, when I reserved the room photos of the-room was different, I complain at reception and I asked for change the room but he told me we don’t have any other room till tomorrow

Horrible, horrible, horrible.
Room not as advertised, bathroom moldy, appliances non-functional.
72 stairs with no escalator.
Wasps in the stairway.
Some other rooms are DIRECTLY attached to the breakfast area.
The walls are paper thin, it is dirty, it is run down.

Twice I didn't get into the hotel because nobody was at the counter.

I have no idea who thinks that this is a 3-star Hotel.

The breakfast is mediocre at best.

Invest the money, go somewhere beautiful.
