Location was great with amazing views. Staff were friendly. Was a bit disappointing that there was no compendium in the room explaining how everything works from TV to heating etc… as all in Japanese. To the point we ran out of hot water as we weren’t told there was only a small boiler. So 1 bath used it all!! Heating didn’t work properly as we were eventually told there was an issue which would take...
Great time at Terrazze. The room was very spacious and kept clean. Hotel staff were kind and very professional and responsive. Great locker area to store ski equipment with ample drying rack space to keep the boots and gloves dry for the next day. No complaints and would definitely stay again.
Stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon. Thomas was super helpful with our check in and out! The room and amenities were great! Nicely tucked away from the main areas so it was nice and quiet. The driver pickup/drop-off to and from the snow fields was also a game changer. Highly recommend!
Amazing place to stay, incredible views of Mt Yotei, great location. Having the drivers available for drop offs and pick ups made a huge difference. Highly recommend, special shout out to the team and Jamie for being so helpful.

Three of us rented a pleasant 2-bd unit here during peak ski season. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious. The well-equipped kitchen worked great for pre-ski breakfast and would have been fine for dinner too if we weren't so wiped out after skiing and onsen. Ski lounge is spacious and easily accessed. The location in middle Hirafu is good enough that you probably don't need a car, unless you are planning...

Great place with great rooms with easy access to the slopes. The hot springs is a must and is extremely easy for foreigners to use. Would recommend for anyone wanting a cheap but pleasant stay in niseko.
This hotel was about a five-minute walk from the ski equipment rental shop and the ski resort. It also had a hot spring sauna, which was great!
The room is nice, there is a greenhouse to store ski equipment, hot springs to soak in, and it's a five-minute walk from the ski resort
The first time I went skiing in Hokkaido, I chose Niseko. We went there during the peak season and booked late. Niseko is a popular place, so it was hard to find a hotel that was actually available and reasonably priced. Many ski hotels with good value for money and close to the ski resorts were fully booked early, or they were luxury hotels that were several times more expensive. Finally, after looking...
We stayed in a Japanese-style room with bathroom, which was relatively new. The hotel is very close to the ski lift, on the cross street, which is very convenient for shopping at night. Hirafu Welcome Center is not far from the hotel, about 200 to 300 meters away. The room faces Mount Yotei. The public bath in the hotel has hot springs, which also face Mount Yotei. It is recommended to go there after...
I was very skeptical given that this is the “budget” option compared to the super expensive hotels and resorts in the area. Plus the pictures look pretty bad. But we booked last minute and it was either this or a 3x more expensive hotel. So we decided to give it a try and I’m so glad we did!!
Overall the hotel is old and gives grandma vibes. But it’s Japanese old and everything is super well maintained...

I stayed at the Fresh Water Hotel in Grand Hirafu last week and the experience was amazing from start to finish. The location is absolutely legendary right in the heart of everything, with super easy access to the lifts, restaurants, and nightlife.
The staff really made the stay special. Rachel was a huge help getting us checked in early and making sure everything was set up perfectly for us right...
We had a wonderful stay at Freshwater Hotel Niseko. The hotel itself is modern, cosy, and perfectly located for exploring the area. A special shout-out goes to James from Perth, who drove us to the welcome center when we were leaving. James was genuinely lovely — friendly, relaxed, and incredibly helpful. After an already great stay, his warm conversation and kindness were a perfect send-off and left...
Great accomodation and usability. Appliances and rooms were great quality and the ski gear store room is perfect. Pick up and drop off to the hotel from the bus was very easy and a shout out to James from Perth for the hospitality, he was great to chat to, very insightful, and engaged with us all very well. Thank you for the stay we greatly enjoyed our time.
I had a wonderful stay at The Freshwater, and I really want to take a moment to recognize James from Perth. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond to make me feel genuinely welcome and cared for. His kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and it truly made my stay special. It’s rare to meet someone who so clearly loves what they do and makes such a positive...
Dear The Freshwater Hotel Management Team,
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful experience I had during my recent stay at The Freshwater Hotel.
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and professional service provided by your front desk staff. The reception team was extremely welcoming and helpful, making me feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout...
I chose this apartment hotel when I came to Niseko for skiing. The reception staff was very enthusiastic and was happy to help me send my ski bag to Tokyo when I checked out, and arranged a shuttle bus to take us to Kutchan Station. Although it is not a ski in & out, it is very convenient to have a free shuttle bus nearby! In addition, the balcony is a natural refrigerator, which is great! Finally...

We enjoyed a short, two-night stay at Zaborin Ryokan last weekend, and we loved every minute of the stay. The accommodations were exceptional! The suite was spacious at ~100 square meters (~1100 square feet). There was a private outdoor onsen as well as an internal onsen that we loved using. The living room allowed us to relax comfortably in the suite even though we did not use the separate dining...
Zaborin Onsen Ryokan truly exceeded our expectations! The beautiful natural scenery was incredibly refreshing, and combined with delicious meals, a clean and spacious room, and delightful indoor and outdoor onsen baths, it made for a perfect vacation experience.
Our second visit to Zaborin, this time in the winter. The place is truly special in the snowfall, with the illuminated trees providing a wonderful background. The service remains impeccable. The room is gorgeous, with its views to the exterior. The amount of privacy is amazing. Breakfasts and dinners are in rooms that are essentially private. We found the food better this visit. The preparation...
Finally checked off my must-stay hotel! Getting to the hotel from Sapporo was easier than I expected. Zaborin offers a pick-up service from Kuch'an Station. The autumn scenery along the way was breathtaking. This adjective also describes the Michelin-starred dining experience; I personally preferred the breakfast, which was exceptionally refined.
A truly wonderful experience. The setting is private and the rooms feel nestled in the woodland. The service is friendly, polite and attentive. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the indoor and outdoor spring pools were a treat. The food was innovative and tasty with beautiful ingredients. The hotel itself is made for calm and relaxation. Would love to visit again!
Zaborin has entered into the ranks of one of my favourite ryokans in Japan. We visited in the midst of a very hot summer and even though the ryokan was not air conditioned and we were so warm the whole time (except in the room) we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We hope to visit in the wintertime and hopefully their booking policy will be a little more relaxed as wintertime booking requires a minimum...

Our stay at Miru Niseko was excellent - the staff there was incredibly helpful and arranged so many things for and answered all of our questions. Niseko is a very popular tourist place so extremely expensive during the season but they were able to recommend places that weren’t. The location was private and beautiful but close enough that their hotel shuttles and the free bus were able to get you anywhere...
Pretty spacious rooms, and convenient shuttle that goes into town and ski resort every 30 mins. The hotel staff were especially amazing. They were very communicative via email with setting up pick up and drop transportation and preparing our accommodation. While there, the staff helped us out with phone calls and Yamato luggage transport as well. During our checkout, the local Hakodate line was shutdown...
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in anywhere. The service was exceptional- friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. They even helped us bring our luggage upstairs to our room. We stayed on the second floor which offers views of the mountains and a large snowy field, so it feels incredibly secluded and peaceful. We never noticed any noise issues. The hotel is built in such a way that each cabana of...
Superb hotel. Large rooms with massive bedrooms, warm, large bathrooms and dedicated laundry for every few rooms.
If you book two rooms they connect through internal doors which is fantastic.
Fantastic experience here at Miru Niseko this Dec 2025. Staff were so helpful especially Yue Fei. Location was close by to Hirafu just a simple drive away, else they have regular shuttles. Clean, peaceful and beautiful views. Walk to the lodges was also close by. Easy returns for Rhythmn rentals, and great locker storage near the lobby. Our family had a wonderful time.
Amazing breakfast and clean rooms.

Warm and Cozy house. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 1 powder room downstairs and big living room connected with kitchen and dinning table upstairs. You can park up to 2 cars in front of the house. 10 minutes walk to “Bang Bang”, one of the best restaurant in town.
Overall a great place to stay. Biggest/only thing was the beds are hard as rocks, and the pillows were very small. Not my cup of tea, but not to say it wont be comfortable for someone else. Great location to the town/restaurants
Love this place. Very nice and spacious living area. The rooms have a good size for 2 people each. My only complaint, small pillows. Their bathrooms are nice and large, one of them comes with a tub.

We had a hiccup a few weeks ago when we visited, the driver of the van did not pick us up on time at the station so we had to walk with our luggage and board bags to the hotel in the pouring snow. Location, size and value. Never saw staff (understandably due to Covid-19) but always reachable by phone.
It’s not the location (which you can’t beat), nor the accommodations (which are spacious and comfortable), or the amenities (beautiful fully equipped kitchen + in room washer dryer + Netflix) that surprised me, it’s the incredible service which really blew me away! Check in was smooth and efficient. Shuttle service was excellent. Pickup from Hirafu Welcome Center and shuttle to the ski resort… excellent. I’m definitely coming back to Midtown.
Excellent value for money! The view from the room was fantastic. We opened the window and saw a forest with a backdrop of white snow – such a great atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a wide variety of choices. Just outside the hotel, you can see Hokkaido's Mount Fuji, also known as Mt. Yotei. It was incredibly beautiful, words can't describe it!
Nice 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Room was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Local rentals were great from Rhythm, which had a returns rack in the hotel ski storage room. Was a bit loud at night. So much snow. Note that some of the local convenience stores have all of your champagne and husbando needs covered.
For a three-star hotel, it's quite decent. The supermarket is a 5-7 minute walk, and cafes are about 10 minutes on foot, although there's also a cafe right in the hotel. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done.
I was very satisfied with the service and food. The location is also great and very convenient. I highly recommend staying here.

This is basically a ski-in ski-out apart-hotel. I stayed in a slope-side one bedroom. Comfortable stay with friendly staff. I could definitely stay again on my next trip to Hirafu.
Stayed for a week and really loved this hotel. I know someone complained about not getting a mountain view, we were in the cheapest rooms (studio) and were happy to have a little balcony over the street - we didn’t expect any view at all. Having a washing machine, drying racks, great kitchen and a drying room for skis etc downstairs was really convenient, and its steps from the family run and ACE family...
We've stayed here for the past couple years, in different units. Positives: - Hard to beat the location - NBS ski rental and school / kids club in same building - Spitting distance to the Ace Family lift - Easy to walk to Hirafu shops and restaurants Negatives: - Units have no character - very basic, bathrooms look like public bathrooms - Staff do the bare minimum to be helpful - Some units have...
This is our 6-7 Niseko trips in the last 8 years. This is definitely the best ski-in ski-out hotel in the Hirafu area! Hotel is just right beside the family lift! Room is what you would expect for the price, with really nice view. Could use a bit more sockets and usb-c and it’s my only complaint during my 3 day stay. Movement is limited since you need to return the key every time you go out. The service crew is very friendly and polite, as you would expect from Japan.
We chose this hotel specifically for our skiing trip to Annupuri Ski Resort. It's super convenient, only about a 10-minute walk to the ski rental shop! However, there are absolutely no shops nearby. If you're not driving your own car like we were, it might be a bit inconvenient. But, there's a Niseko shuttle bus stop right in front of the hotel, which helps make up for it, though the schedule isn't...

The location is convenient. The hotel is only a 5-minute walk from Annupuri Ski Resort. Although the hotel is not big, the overall environment and sanitation are very good, especially the open-air bath, the scenery is beautiful and comfortable! There are not many rooms but they are enough. The breakfast buffet does not have many varieties, but the dinner is delicious! Will come again next time!
This hotel is in a remote place in Niseko, the terminal, far away from the core area, but I feel pretty good
