Tsuganoki in Nikko

Very nice

The staff goes above & beyond to make you feel like royalty (something we're not used to haha). There are some snacks, coffee/tea in the lobby. The traditional Ryoken rooms are HUGE and the traditional dinner/breakfast are amazing. From Nikko, you will need to take another short train ride to Kinugawaonsen station, and the hotel will shuttle you from there (or it's a 12 minute walk). The views are beautiful & you're a couple minutes walk to an AMAZING suspension bridge overlooking the gorge and mountains

I was surprised that it went beyond my expectations. The welcome drinks and snacks were awesome. My sister loved the mochi with strawberry. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and relatives.

First-class service, first-class facilities

During my holiday in Japan I wanted to stay in a traditional Japanese hotel and found it here . On arrival I was met outside the hotel by a staff member who welcomed me and brought me into the lobby and introduced me to the reception staff who booked me in and informed me about the public bath and coffee bar area and told me about the hotel . I was then taken up to my room/apartment and showed around the apartment. I was taken back with the size of my room which was clean and very comfortable and soon got ready to go down for dinner . On entering the dining room I was taken to my table and my meal was explained to me as this was a traditional Japanese meal which I really enjoyed. Breakfast was fantastic with an assortment of dishes . I can not thank the staff enough for making my stay a very enjoyable experience, especially the lady who looked after me in the dining room. I felt I got 100% customer care and my stay at a traditional Japanese hotel was made all the enjoyable. On leaving the hotel all the staff came to see me off and wished me all the best for the rest of my holiday. Thank you.

I stayed overnight during peak autumn leaf season so the hotel area was incredibly beautiful. The staff members don't speak much English but they did their best to communicate and their hospitality was simply superb. The food used a lot of fresh local ingredients and featured many unique dishes. I loved the spacious room with private bath overlooking the lovely valley. This ryokan is more for those who enjoy exploring small Japanese towns off the beaten path. I did pay a hefty price since they charge for two even for single use but I enjoyed everything about my stay and I will be back again!

This hotel was perfect ! The views and service were amazing. Quiet place to relax . Food was very unique and our room was beautiful and very spacious for Japan!!

Nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We paid around 38000 yen for one night. The hotel is in Kinugawa Onsen, 40-45 minutes from Nikko, the travel is included in the all area Nikko pass.
The rooms are classic old ryokan style, with a nice onsen on the balcony and futons. We experienced a warm japanese hospitality at its best although the staff didn’t speak english, but they did their best and were really nice. The dinner and breakfast were fabulous, worth the entire experience. The public onsen needs renovation but you can also use the onsen at the hotel next door-which we haven’t seen. Overall i’d recommend the hotel if you are not in a hurry to visit Nikko and if you are not traveling on a tight budget.

Amazing Ryokan experienced...staffs are so friendly...dinner and breakfast are so yummy and real Japanese style comes with variety and worth u paid for it...highly recommend ;)
