Friendly staff.
Location very far from centre of city, and there is no hotel shuttle.
Very quiet. No blinds or light filter on the tatami room windows - sun woke me up at 5am each day!

A very cozy hotel in a quiet area of Matsumoto. The onsen was great. The staff, although not very fluent in English, were always willing to help and wait while I typed a question into Google Translate. Getting to and from the hotel was a bit inconvenient, as buses run every half hour, but the views around the hotel made it worthwhile.

A traditional Japanese-style hot spring hotel. The tatami room is very comfortable to sleep in. You can also take a walk in the mountains surrounding the hotel.

Great hotel. If you love traditional Japanese food, their cuisine is right up your alley. Loved the view. And they had very nice staff.

I used it with two friends on Saturdays and Sundays in August.
Dinner will be served in the banquet hall on the second floor. Each room is partitioned like a folding screen, so you don't have to worry about other people's eyes or voices. I ordered additional alcohol, but it came out immediately without waiting.
The food was delicious, and above all, the maid who served the meal and the staff who guided us to the table at the entrance of the banquet hall were polite and left a good impression.

The hot springs are alternated between men and women, and each has an open-air bath that can be used by several people.

Brand new modern hotel! It does not mean that. It's not big at all, but I felt that it was well maintained.
There are many places in the hotel that have been renovated, so you can use it comfortably, and it was a good hotel where the staff clearly conveyed their desire to serve customers.
I want to use it again.
