I think this is one of the older family owned hotels. Many employees are matured so they follow good-old-style Japanese hospitality which is super kind, supportive, polite and ready-to-serve attitude. This is rarely seen in the recent clean "Business Hotel." This means the facility is not that new and maybe a bit dark inside and halls are sometimes noisy (by residents and cleaning people chatting) perhaps because walls are not that noise resistant. I could hear next room's big snore. This is a trade-off but I paid much cheaper than other places and this is fairly decent.

I only used the day-use bathing facilities.

I was grateful that they were open late, as I wanted to wash off before my overnight bus.

The bath was small, but it wasn't crowded, so I was able to relax, and the temperature was just right.

The front desk staff were also very kind.

It's close to the bus stop and easy to get to from the airport.
The hot spring water was free-flowing and nice. The bathtub isn't that big.

The building and interior evoke a Showa-era vibe.
The hot spring is small, but the water flows directly from the source, so it's hot enough to warm you to the core.
Breakfast was a buffet, but the portions were ample and delicious.

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel, so I stayed at Kamomekan this time. I had booked a double room. The room was exactly what you'd expect from a business hotel. However, as the name suggests, the bath was a natural hot spring with no added water, so if you don't like very hot baths, you'll need to add water yourself and mix it with the spatula provided in the bath. I like hot water, so I soaked in it as is. Perhaps because I didn't add any water, the warmth in my body lasted for a very long time after I got out of the bath. The food was better than I expected, both in quantity and taste. If you're traveling alone, this might be a really good hotel.

If you're just staying overnight, it was just average.
I was able to take a dip in the hot spring, but the men's bath was too hot, and although there was a sign asking you to fill it with water, it took a while to fill it up, which was disappointing⤵︎

I drop in for a day trip. It's always fully booked, whether it's New Year's or Obon, so it's one of my favorites, but this year I finally encountered two other people. Maybe it was because it was near evening. It's a simple structure with one bathtub, and there are more impressive facilities nearby, but the bathing hours are long, it's inexpensive, and the spring quality is good, so I think I'll drop in again.
