The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Sanjo in Kyoto

This was my second stay, so I didn't take any photos of the hotel. All I can say is that the hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! You can pretty much walk to everywhere you want to go, and strolling around and experiencing the city along the way is such a wonderful feeling. Also, the beds in the hotel are incredibly comfortable – just the right firmness – ensuring a good night's sleep. For such a prime and expensive location, the room size is actually quite good! The Kamo River and Kawaramachi area right next to the hotel offer truly healing beautiful scenery, and there are tons of great food options right outside the door too!

The hotel's location is really great; I love the Isomaru right across the street. This time, though, I encountered a staff member who wasn't very sharp. The main draw is how comfortable it is right by the Takase River, and Ogawa Coffee, just one traffic light away, is also delicious.

This is the seventh hotel I've stayed at in Kyoto. I've evolved from initially choosing hotels near Kyoto Station, primarily relying on buses for getting around, to now staying in the city center and using the subway more often. It's best to pick accommodation based on your personal travel needs. The hotel's front desk has plenty of staff; the experienced young and middle-aged employees are efficient with check-ins and attentive to guest requests. Guests are always greeted warmly and politely by the front desk when entering and leaving the hotel. The rooms are relatively new, and the interior design makes for a convenient and comfortable stay. It's clean and tidy; whenever I hung out the 'please clean' sign, I'd return to a spotless room. The sheets and duvet covers were changed every three days. The down comforter was soft, though the bed was a bit firm. There are countless dining options and convenient shopping nearby.

The room was pretty good overall, with enough space for two suitcases. The hotel's location is excellent, surrounded by lively shops and restaurants, making it convenient for both dining and exploring. I highly recommend the bakery next door for breakfast; my daughter and I ate there twice and still talk about it!

My friend recommended this hotel. It's in a prime location, right by the Kamo River, making transportation very convenient. Shopping and dining are even easier. The hotel is a bit older. Our triple room with an extra bed and a large sofa felt a bit cramped. The sofa was actually a bit unnecessary; it would have been better to have that space for luggage. The breakfast was decent, and the staff were very warm and attentive. The hotel entrance design is quite thoughtful, just like the city of Kyoto itself. Stayed here for three nights with my parents, overall five stars!

Environment: The location is excellent. Right outside the hotel, there are three streets, and a 2-minute walk to the left takes you to "Kamo River," while a 1-minute walk to the right leads to the bustling "Nishiki Market."

Cleanliness: Very good, cleaned daily. The bedding is soft and comfortable, perfect for a good night's sleep.

Facilities: The facilities are relatively new and well-maintained.

Food: The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, and Japanese cuisine is very healthy, allowing you to combine dishes to your liking. There are also numerous restaurants with international and various local cuisines nearby, giving you plenty of choices.

Service: What impressed me the most was the incredibly warm service. During this trip, I unfortunately lost my passport one day on the way to a scenic spot. When I returned to the hotel and explained the situation to the front desk, two service staff members (Ms. Tokieda and Ms. Ogawa) asked me about all the places I had visited that day (all subway and bus stations). They immediately called each station, and after 20 minutes of effort, they miraculously found my passport. I was truly touched by their help on the spot. I want to thank them and the hotel again for their excellent service.

When traveling, unexpected incidents can happen, especially in an environment where you don't speak the language, but outstanding service can truly make you feel warm and cared for.

The location is excellent, very close to the Kamo River and super convenient for shopping and dining. It made exploring Kyoto for our three-day trip a breeze. We even found a fantastic steak donburi place nearby. The only slight drawback was the main road, where street racers would sometimes create loud engine noise at night. However, it fortunately didn't affect our sleep, and we would happily choose to stay here again on our next visit.

Location: The hotel is a convenient 5-minute walk from Shiyakusho-mae Station (Tozai Line), and also within a 5-minute walk from Sanjo Station (Tozai Line) and Keihan Sanjo Station. The surrounding area is a bustling commercial district, all easily accessible on foot, featuring popular spots like Uniqlo, Kiddy Land, BAL department store, and Sanjo Meitengai shopping street. Takashimaya department store and Nishiki Market are just a 15-minute walk away. The Kamo River is right around the corner; simply turn left when you exit the hotel.

Dining: Plenty of dining options are available nearby. There's a supermarket just 20 meters to the left when you leave the hotel. Matsuya (a popular beef bowl restaurant) is about 200 meters further to the left, with Isomaru Suisan directly opposite it. Shinjindo Bakery and a tea room are conveniently located on the ground floor of the hotel building. Walk another 50 meters, and you'll discover even more choices.

Facilities: While the room is compact, there's enough space to comfortably open up both a 26-inch and a 20-inch suitcase simultaneously. It comes equipped with a refrigerator, a complete set of toiletries, and slippers. There's also a hotel restaurant located on the basement level.

This was my second stay, and I continue to be impressed by its excellent value for money and impeccable cleanliness. The location is absolutely fantastic, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere, and it's super convenient to pop back to the hotel during the day to drop off purchases or take a quick rest.

The location is excellent, with everything you need right around the corner. The Kamo River is also just a stone's throw away. Aside from the bathroom not having a separate wet/dry design, everything else was fantastic. The triple rooms, especially, are very family-friendly. I still highly recommend it.

Great location, super convenient for getting around. Enjoyed a nightcap at the hotel bar every evening! 🤪🤪🤪 The staff were always so friendly and polite, greeting us warmly each day.
