Hotel Makinoki in Shima

Excellent place to stay & enjoy view... Restaurant serves excellent meal with extraordinary quality... Wish to stay again to explore Ago bay. The rooms are well equipped with all the basic necessities. The hotel uses local and organic produces. The owner seems more concern towards nature....

I couldn't find it from the wide street, so I had to pore over maps and Google maps. I finally found it after going through a narrow road. I was amazed that it was built in such a national park. The room was average, but the view was amazing. Watching the sunset while soaking in the bath was so relaxing.
Dinner was creative cuisine, and the presentation and flavor were unlike anything I'd ever tasted before. Each dish felt carefully prepared. It was a comforting experience, as they kept a close eye on my appetite and served it at the right intervals. Breakfast was also freshly made and delicious. Judging from the reviews and photos, it might seem like I wasn't really looking forward to coming here, but I would definitely come again. I'll tell my friends, but I probably won't spread the word on my blog, because I might not be able to stay there.

The area is very safe.
Please note that the road to the hotel is narrow.
Once you exit the narrow road,
you will arrive in front of the hotel.
You can relax and enjoy the ocean view.
Although the building's age and the room structure are a bit of a problem, the owner and his wife's hospitality is very soothing.

When we arrived, we were asked what time we wanted dinner, and they showed us a beautiful place to watch the sunset, saying, "Shall we have dinner at 6 o'clock? Or shall we have dinner at midnight if we want to go see the sunset?" After enjoying the walk and the sunset, we had a delicious meal. When I told them I don't like alcohol, they changed it to a plum vinegar drink, and when I told them I don't like raw food, they prepared some sashimi for me to eat as shabu-shabu. All the dishes were delicious, but especially the oysters! When we left, the owner and his wife sent us off with smiles on their faces. Both our stomachs and our hearts were satisfied.

It's been several years since I last visited.
The last time I visited, I stayed overnight and had dinner, but this time I went for lunch.
The lunch was delicious as well. The food was a mix of French and Japanese cuisine and was easy to eat.
Next time, I'd like to stay overnight and enjoy a drink while I visit.
However, the final road is very narrow, so please be careful if you are driving a large or low-slung car.
