You have to rent or buy everything including towels and tooth brushes.
In the end it is more expensive than other hotels.

You have to put on your own sheets and pillowcases. There was blood on the pillow before putting it on. There were two rice cracker futons on the floor. There was a palm-sized spider.
You could see outside from the bath, but there was no hot water.
Neither of the clocks at the reception were working.

We stayed here as a family of three in April 2025. 🤗
It cost ¥5000 per adult for one night with breakfast.

Our schedule ran behind that day, so we checked in quite late and arrived in complete darkness.

A man in his 60s, who seemed to be the owner, greeted us at the reception. When we apologized for being late, he quietly replied, "Yes, it's very late," sounding rather displeased. 😓

We were a little surprised that we had to lay out our own futons. The bathwater was quite lukewarm. ♨️

Overall, including the food, my impression is, well, for ¥5000 a night, it's about what you'd expect...?

This was my first time staying at a youth hostel during the Obon holiday, with no elevator and steep stairs, making it difficult to carry my suitcase up the stairs.

The indoor outlet was only about a meter long, so it was difficult to charge my smartphone and use it while charging.

I could hear conversations from the next room.

Toothbrushes are available at the reception desk, but there's a fee.

There was a shared toilet with some foreign guests, and their slippers were rude and piled up, making it dirty.

The shared bath had several shampoo brands, so I was glad I could use the one that suited me. I couldn't see the office window from the bathroom window, which was a bit annoying. I wish there were at least some bamboo blinds.

The refrigerator, microwave, and pot were shared in the hallway.

I was given sheets at check-in, but I had to put them on myself...which can be physically exhausting when you're tired. There was dust on the sheets and futon.

The mattress was made of rice crackers, so my body ached in the morning.

There was a strong smell of dead window stink bugs.

My smartphone had Wi-Fi, but my Switch wouldn't. Unfortunately, the boiler seemed to be malfunctioning, so we ran out of water from 9pm, which was a problem.
We were able to see the fireworks at Shima Spain Village for 5 minutes, which was beautiful.
I've written a lot, but the best thing about it was that the man in charge was friendly, which made our shy children feel at ease. I'm glad we were able to use it.

It's located about 5 minutes away from Spain Village, halfway up a hill on the opposite side of the bay, so it was convenient for visiting the village.
As it's a public lodging, it's more like a training facility, as you can see in the photos.
I visited in winter, so the shower wasn't very strong, the water wasn't very hot, and the bathtub itself was just warm.
For meals, you could have as much rice as you wanted in the evening, and toast and rolls in the morning.
The main benefit is that it's cheap, and as long as you understand that, it's fine.
The room on the ocean side with a great view was a Japanese-style room, while the room on the hill side had a 2.5 tatami mat space and bunk beds for six, and the kids were happy to have bunk beds, which was unusual for them.
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!
Think about what you would like to know if you were looking for a review about a place to relax. Please describe in detail what you liked and what you didn't. What would you advise to other guests and to the hotel owner. The more fully you tell about the hotel, the easier it will be for other people to make a choice and they will be very grateful to you!
