Onsen Ryokan Yamaki in Nasushiobara

I had a wonderful stay here. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, maintaining just the right level of distance, which made everything feel very comfortable.

We were also lucky that a room with a private onsen became available, and they kindly offered to switch our room—such a nice touch.

The ryokan itself is small and მშვიდ, perfect if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.
The creative Japanese cuisine was better than expected, and I really appreciated the beautiful Mashiko pottery they used.

The only downside was that the private-use system for the public bath was no longer available.
Other than that, I was extremely satisfied, including the tasteful design of the building.

It’s the kind of place you want to recommend… but also keep as your little secret.

Visited with a family of six! We stayed in a room with a small bath. It had the feel of a traditional Japanese ryokan, but with a modern touch, so it was comfortable and clean while still enjoying the traditional Japanese atmosphere.👍🏻 The bedroom was cozy and comfortable, and had a hotel-like feel to it! Even those accustomed to hotel beds would be comfortable. It felt like the perfect balance between traditional and modern.❤️

The kaiseki was delicious. It was just enough to fill you up, so you didn't need to eat snacks in the room. They served sashimi, rice, shabu-shabu, and more. Even if you missed a bite or didn't enjoy the rest of the meal, you'll still be satisfied.👍🏻 The staff were also incredibly friendly!

The hot springs were fantastic and soothing.🩵 Highly recommended if you're in Tochigi! A comfortable, clean, and perfect ryokan🎎

There are many small inns in Itamuro Onsen, but this one also has a small number of rooms, so you can spend a quiet time there. It seems like the entire building has been renovated and is very clean.
There are also two rooms with semi-open-air baths, so you can enjoy Itamuro Onsen at any time. The rooms are also modernly finished.
Of course, in the large public bath you can climb up a rope to enter the standing bath, which is unique to Itamuro Onsen, and at night each room has its own private bath, so it's great that you can have the large public bath all to yourself.
Dinner was also elaborate and delicious. They also have a wide selection of sake, which is great to drink with it. I tend to be a light eater, so the portions were just right.
By the way, one thing to note is that there are many stairs, so it may not be suitable for people with disabilities...However, it is a very nice inn and I will definitely be a repeat visitor.

I arrived after dark, but as soon as I parked my car, I was greeted with a warm welcome and offered to carry my luggage. When I was ushered into the lobby, I was greeted with matcha tea and sweets, which I also really appreciated.

The stairs leading up to the hotel, the courtyard, the subtle art throughout the building and rooms, and the indirect lighting all created a comfortable space and an atmosphere that reminded me of the special occasion, and their good taste stood out. I far preferred Yamaki's comfortable atmosphere to that of more famous hotels.

The staff were also very friendly and attentive, with a gentle demeanor. The service and attitude were simply excellent.

The food, served in a pleasant private room, was also outstanding, carefully prepared using ingredients unique to Nasu. I was satisfied with dinner, of course, but breakfast the next morning was even more surprising and satisfying. I was truly pampered.

We were able to reserve the hot springs for ourselves, although it was for a set time, so we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves.
I would definitely like to stay at Yamaki again. It was the best inn I've ever stayed at, and I even wanted to visit Nasu just to stay here. I'll definitely come back!

An inn for grown-ups, a ryokan with a retreat-like atmosphere with eight guest rooms. Even though it is a ryokan, the facility is beautiful and a wonderful space. Customer service, guest rooms, hot springs (baths), meals... everything is the best. You can choose the firmness and height of the pillow.
We rarely met other customers in the hotel (by chance?), and after a long time, my husband and I enjoyed our private hot springs. It seems that there were no children this time.

It is a decent hot spring inn where you can stay at a relatively reasonable price.

I stayed in a room with a hot spring. The temperature is relatively loose due to the alkaline simple spring, but you don't have to fill it with water by adjusting the temperature, so you can enjoy the hot springs luxuriously.

The room had a modern Japanese feel, and the interior of the washbasin was very nice and clean.

Samue is OK in the hall, so it's easy.

There are only two rooms with baths, and everyone uses the large communal bath, so you can think that the baths are quite crowded.

As for the food, you can enjoy the fish from the river and feel the locality. It is also a good impression that the taste of the vessel is good. The seasonings and finishes were divided into those that were good and those that were not. I wanted the salt-grilled sweetfish to be served freshly.

Breakfast was also an irresistible menu for Yuba lovers, and I was very satisfied.

I am glad that the price of sake is also conscientious.

I went to stay with my husband and wife in the summer of 2021. The rice was also very delicious in a semi-private room. It was an atmosphere like a hideaway for adults, so I think it is recommended for those who want to spend a little relaxing time ♪
