Decent Beds, attentive staff, available kitchen, alright location, good pricing.

Rooms can get a little stuffy because of no fans or aircon. And I've seen lockers although not sure if they are available to everyone.

Amigo Hostel is great value for money and probably the cheapest hostel in Almaty. The staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. The shared bathrooms and toilets are clean. My husband and I shared a large private room with a big window (price: Tenge 3100, $10). The internet was fast and worked well in the room--no problem streaming videos. The kitchen facilities are basic but clean. The only disadvantage was that the doors to the rooms are pretty flimsy and have windows so noise and light enters. Overall, we can highly recommend Amigo Hostel to budget travelers.

Really couldn't ask for much more. Location is the best, in the center of Almaty city! Close by every hot spot of the city and subway station .I was grateful to be able to leave my belongings in the hostel the day I was taking the train to my next destination. The free internet a very helpful asset. Clean showers, clean toilets. Staff was really helpful and kind, reception is 24/7.

Staff, location, price and facilities are top. Guests are more younger (Party people) folks. Expect smoking indoors and loud noises till early morning. When we went there, there even was a crew of russian strippers. Awkward.

Perfect! The hostel is easy to find. Rooms and toilets are clean, the reception girl is so warm hearted and helped a lot during my stay, all workers of hostel are like families. It feels like to be at home when I was there. The experience is wonderful. Strongly recommened.
