We had very high expectations and Mirihi Island delivered in every way. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and the rooms clean and luxurious. The stand out for us was the house reef. We’ve travelled to many tropical islands and Mirihi has the best reef we have ever been fortunate enough to explore. I cannot recomend this place enough.

We feel so fortunate and happy that we have been able to make it to Mirihi again. We arrived as part of the very first guests on their first ‘soft' reopening day. Mirihi has been undergoing renovations and is now being marketed under Accor's M Gallery Collection. Their reopening has been delayed a few times which also meant that we ended up staying for 3 nights at another small 5 star island resort with a wonderful house reef with a high focus on fine dining but we were missing the spirit and heart of Mirihi. We must admit we had been a bit apprehensive if Mirihi would remain the same after the renovation and the rebranding but from the moment we were transferred back to Mirihi, it felt like coming home. The genuine kindness of staff, the personal care was just as we had remembered it from our last visit 3 years ago. 95% of their staff have remained, which is also a reflection of how the staff team feel about working there. We understand from conversations with Mirihi’s GM Mohamed Shareef that he and 16 of his team have been working there for over 23 years for the entire time of the existence of Mirihi!
He and his team repeatedly emphasised how important it was for them to retain the unique spirit and heart of Mirihi which reportedly is also in line with the values of the owner and supported by Accor. I think and know from talking with other guests that it is this unique heartfelt spirit of genuine kindness and service that makes this beautiful peaceful and quiet paradise island of the Maldives so unique.

The villa renovations have been done in a very tasteful way. There is now a beautiful pool in front of the bar area, which is very refreshing and non-imposing, a new small but well equipped gym, the table tennis is still there and so are the great excursions they offer. And of course still no TVs! :-) The service is extremely personalised and accommodating, now even with a dedicated ‘butler’ allocated to each guest.
The renovations have not entirely been completed yet and the new double villas with pools are still under construction. We were not at all bothered by any construction noise while there although we could not snorkel in that area. It did not make any difference to our experience and Mirihi even provided all excursions for free for all guests as compensation.
They expect to fully open by end of March for new reservations but continue to operate for bookings that have been made earlier. Until the full re-opening the outer circle of water villas is cordoned off and not occupied by guests.
We are so incredibly happy to be here again and are enjoying every day. We will definitely be coming back again. Mirihi truly is unique and we are pleased to report to everyone who has been there before, that Mirihi remains as special - even improved upon - as it has always been and seens to also attract the same like minded guests! :-)

I booked Mirihi in July 2025 for our second visit to the island on January 19, 2026. At that time, the island's reopening was scheduled for December 1, 2025. A few months later, I wrote directly to the island again, and they replied that the opening had been postponed to the end of December. In December, worried, I wrote to the island once more, and they replied that the opening (soft opening) had definitively been moved to January 16 and that I could rest assured. Before my departure for the Maldives, I wrote two more times, and they always assured me that the opening would be on January 16. On January 11, we left for the Maldives to a neighboring island of Mirihi, where we stayed for the first week. On January 18th (the day before our transfer to Mirihi), as we were packing our bags for the island change, I received a call from our tour operator saying that Mirihi was not yet ready to receive guests and that we would have to choose another island. This was less than 24 hours before our arrival. What more can I say? Very disappointed.

We had a great time at Mirihi in February 2025. From the moment we landed we felt we would have a great vacation. I won't lie our priority is the reef but we love our food too! The chef is one of the best in Maldives! Every day the buffet was like a totally different menu. You never get bored and the quality is always superb! The reef is very extensive and the recovery of the corals is pretty good! We did a manta trip and we were very satisfied 😌 saw mantas and there weren't too many boats so was pretty calm experience! The diving center staff are very professional, thank you! We stayed in a water villa and eventhough are pretty basic we loved the rustic feeling, the only problem with the water villas is that is difficult to access the reef in low tide. If we go back we will make sure to take a beach villa! The Spa was great too but needs a reno , they told us that they will renovated it(Mirihi is closed now for renos). We had a great time and we looking forward to visit again 😀

We stayed at Mirihi Island Resort for a week at the end of March. It was our first time in the Maldives and a lot of research went in to finding this resort. We wanted a small resort, with overwater villas and a house reef for snorkelling. It did not disappoint! The service provided by Mirihi is of a very high standard, and started from the moment we arrived in Male airport. We were met by a representative from the island and guided through the process of checking in for the Seaplane transfer, including ensuring our luggage was handled correctly and being taken to the terminal, a short bus ride away from the international terminal. The lounge there was well stocked, with drinks and snacks and good toilet and washing facilities. Mirihi was the second (and last) stop on the Seaplane's route, it was a lovely trip with great views over the various islands and atolls. Upon arrival at Mirihi, following lunch, we were given a tour of the island and our villa. Our luggage was taken directly from the Seaplane to our villa, so we did not have to worry about it. We stayed in villa 11, which is on the straight part of the overwater villas. It gave easy access to the lagoon at high tide, and often at lower levels too thanks to being slightly off the reef. There is also easy access to snorkelling from the main jetty, and plenty of excursions you can book to go further afield on the house reef or elsewhere on South Ari Atoll. We did the Whaleshark Seeker Cruise (and luckily saw three of them) and the Night Snorkelling trips, both were well worth the money. We saw a huge variety of wildlife, fish and corals were abundant in all areas, and there are also Reef and Nurse sharks on the reef and by the villas if you are lucky. On land there are lizards, fruit bats and birds to spot. The food was absolutely amazing! As a vegan, I was a little concerned as to what options I would have, but I did not need to worry. The kitchen team are excellent at what they do, and on days where there was less choice on the buffet they would make me something with what they had to hand. We were full board, and breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fantastic with plenty of choice. Dinner has a different theme every night, on a bi-weekly cycle, which helps with variety. Usually there is a cold salad section, a main course area with self-serve rice and curries or similar, and often an option to have something like noodles or pasta cooked fresh with meat/fish/veggies of your choice. Finally there is a dessert section, which is always worth saving some space for! All in all, we had a wonderful time and hope to be able to visit again in the future.

What a relaxing trip. From the moment we cleared customs to when we returned to the airport to check-in, we knew we were in great hands. Mariyana helped facilitate our airport transfer for both arrival and departure. She is so helpful. We were greeted at the plane by Carmen and Mohammed. They had bags for our shoes and for the remainder of our stay we were barefoot (natural exfoliation by the white sand is an additional benefit). The food and drinks were excellent and overseen by Roman and Chef Felix. Great and helpful staff. Beautiful views. We also went of the manta ray and whale shark excursions. In additional to being a great guide, Lynn made her photos available to the group. I highly recommend Mirihi Island Resort

Exceptional island in every single way. We’ve been lucky enough to stay and dive at several resorts in the Maldives and this is by far the best. First, the diving. The team at Ocean Pro Divers is incredible - Steve, Sameer, Naeem, Jana, Lynn - and a special thanks to Mari who we dived with the most - are professional, caring, safe, and knowledgeable. The same goes for the captain and crew, the whole team couldn’t do enough to help. Groups are very small, we always went to a different dive site, and they even wash your kit! Mirihi itself is so peaceful that it feels like your own private island. Everyone that works on the island is friendly and attentive but discrete. The food and accommodation are excellent and the beaches… simply paradise. A huge thank you to everyone at Mirihi for an incredible two weeks.

We had an amazing stay celebrating our 25th anniversary. It is a beautiful boutique resort, the food is outstanding and the staff are so welcoming and helpful. There is lots to do with options for guided adventure ma everyday to experience the coral reefs and wonderful sea life.

We stayed for 12 nights at the end of Jan/early Feb and booked through Angelfish Travel- who we highly recommend. This was our 5th visit and each time we appreciate it more and more. Of the 4 other Maldivian islands we have visited, Mirihi is our favourite. The island is due to undergo a renovation this year so will be closed from May 2025 until approximately November/December 2025, according to their information. We look forward to returning in 2026 to enjoy the new and improved facilities but the main positives for us are the Mirihi team, exceptional food, drinks and impeccable service. The reef is wonderful for snorkelling and the spa treatments have all been excellent. The management team and supervisors are always around, yet nobody is intrusive, just a reassuring presence that they are ensuring the best experience for their guests. We very much appreciate the freshness and choice of food at every meal, there is so much variety, it is presented so well and always delicious. We love to enjoy a cocktail either in the bar or on the deck at Muraka (the a la carte restaurant) at sunset- there is an excellent wine list too, if that is of interest. The renovation is apparently going to include an upgrade to the gym and rooms so I won’t comment on those as they are due to be changed but from our past experience, although the rooms are more basic compared to many newer islands, they are always kept extremely clean and have everything you need in terms of tea/coffee/towels/toiletries etc etc. 🙂

As spectacular in person as it appears online. Service and food is really impeccable. House reef is in great shape. We had high expectations but this place honestly exceeded them.
