Rooms,
Clean and tidy, nice view, the shower was very annoying went from a nice temperature to freezing to boiling hot to scalding just kept getting out quickly.
Toilet blocked 4 times while we were there.
Majid room boy kept room spotless a massive thank you.
Just one idea sweep under the bed very very dusty.
Food,
Breakfast the best meal of the day Yoga the egg chef brilliant.
The other food was very repetitive especially for long stay guests but chefs were accommodating always offered something off menu if wanted.
The a-la-carte menu nice but not always to our tastes.
Husham our waiter and Moosa our other waiter totally amazing took time to get to know us a big thank you to you both.
Did have an issue where doctor was required four times put on antibiotics, pain killers and imodium doctor thought possible salmonella issue ??.
But doctor amazing, however did get charged $130.00 for visits and medication.
Reef,
A very very nice reef to snorkel, we were just unlucky weather and seas very rough which led to cloudy water but eventually cleared we saw 8 different turtles plus lots of fish and amazing corals.
A very big thank you to Leyla on reception you were totally amazing thank you !!.
The inter island speedboat where you can go to Banyan tree is a good idea, but if you are from Dhawa you cannot have any drinks free.
I think you should be allowed soft drinks on either island.

It was very convenient to get to the beach from our room, and the beach itself was well-maintained and clean.

The most basic room type we stayed in was perfectly adequate; if I'm not mistaken, the main difference was the open-air bathroom.
This Maldives masterpiece in the backyard is priceless.
We arrived at the airport at 9 am on the day of our pick-up, which was arranged in advance, but for some reason, we were assigned the 10:15 am speedboat. We were told the wait wouldn't exceed one hour, so we were a little disappointed.
However, the fact that we had a room to stay on the island immediately upon arrival was a plus, essentially like early check-in.
I highly recommend ihuru for those with late departure flights; the hotel will arrange the evening speedboat according to your flight time.
Having an extra half-day relaxing on a Maldives resort island is so important to us!
The service was very warm and friendly; we didn't experience any discrimination (because people often say that some islands in the Maldives discriminate against Chinese tourists). The snorkeling was great; we even saw turtles and sharks, haha.
If it weren't near a full moon, the waves probably wouldn't have been so big.
If you have a short vacation, you should definitely choose a nearby speedboat island!
We also visited the neighboring Vabbin lagoon; it's even bigger and more beautiful! If you don't drink alcohol, you don't actually need AI, and you can also consider the Twin Island Vabbinfaru.

The hotel is tired, with many families with children, and the food is okay but not the best. The reef is increasingly fading and losing its appeal. The convenient location (25 minutes by boat from Male) and the friendly, attentive staff make up for the overall impression.

Maldives It's truly one of the wonderful places on this earth. We family of 4 had a 4 night stay at Dhawa Ihuru island resort (villa no.16; 26-30 Dec 2025).
The lovely team 😍 of Dhawa Ihuru (Habeeb, Ini, Shuaib sous chef, Pradeep, Don, Akesh, Subasis, Susi) ensured that we had one of the most memorable vacations.
Special mention for Hossam who took special care of us during our meals at the restaurant 🤩
Viyaam & Lian 🫶 for making sure we thoroughly enjoyed the water sports activities 🤿
And Habeeb for being there with us start to finish👍
One thing which stood apart is the personal attention from the Ihuru team whether we are at restaurant during meals or lazying around at the bar or enjoying the water sports activities. We had an amazing week staying at Ihuru with our family, only great things to say! The island is beautiful with its lush vegetation, white sandy beaches and amazing reef. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, and the staff was so friendly. Our kids loved just roaming around and joining the organized activities. Food was excellent and varied during the week. Hope to come back again!

Returning to this specific island after it rebranded from Angsana to Dhawa Ihuru. I honestly think standards are still the same despite the rebranding. The decor is very island chic and what I remember fondly. The yellow beach chair is perfect and is like the perfect emblem of how bright cheerful and romantic the island still is. We love the island itself because of its coral reef and ease of access. The reef circles the island and is 1 km long. We did manage to snorkel most of its length despite the rougher ocean conditions during our visit. This is also a small island, almost perfectly circular and easy to navigate and walk around trying to lose some of the calories put on with the volume of good food available on the island. Service was so wonderful and special mention to Hameed and Adam for making our stay so comfortable and lovely. Our stay was too short to do guided snorkeling excursions or diving from the marine center. But talked with Viyam, Henry and Aman, who were very informative on options and as well on current environmental efforts to keep the coral healthy. Hopefully, something to look forward to for next time. The coral is still vibrant and beautiful (less so than I remember as the island was caught up in the 2016 bleaching event) and seems to be recovering thanks to the efforts of the staff at the marine center. Despite bad weather we still saw plenty of beautiful colorful fish and other ocean life. We also saw some megafauna too, turtles and reef sharks. Missed the sunsets and sunrises we were so entranced by the first time we were here but that was our bad luck with the weather. But just wanted to say: this island has some of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises a person can encounter. Plan well and go when the weather is great (I hear February is great) but I’d go anytime of the year.

We didn’t stay at the hotel itself (we stayed on a neighboring island), but we visited for snorkeling and dinner.
Snorkeling was excellent! It’s close to the shore, with plenty of fish species — even squid. You can swim around the island in about 40–60 minutes, depending on the current. The full loop is around 1 km. There’s a lovely lagoon near the bar, perfect for a relaxing swim.
We only came for dinner once, and compared to the neighboring island where we dined regularly, the food quality here was noticeably lower. However, everything was fresh and the selection was sufficient — you won’t go hungry. I recommend coming here for dinner during buffet nights on the neighboring island (Tues, Thurs, Sun, I believe) to really notice the difference. Interestingly, both islands shared the same head chef at the time of our visit (David).
The accommodation looks simple and modest — small bungalows, nothing fancy.
You can't walk around the entire island along the shore, and the view is somewhat spoiled by netting placed every 5–10 meters.
The staff is amazing.
The island also has a spa and a kids’ club.
The island is just a 20-minute boat ride from the airport, and naturally, you can see Malé in the distance.

Our stay at Dhawa Ihuru exceeded all expectations. We chose this destination based on its reputation as an excellent spot for snorkelling, and it truly lived up to the hype. The reef exits were clearly marked, and the abundance of colourful coral fish was mesmerising. Each snorkelling session brought encounters with new species, and we were thrilled to swim alongside blacktip sharks and a hawksbill turtle. Adding to the charm, the resident grey heron was always nearby, occasionally acting as an extra reef exit signpost. We also spotted the national bird, the white-breasted waterhen, and a black-naped tern, which added to the magical experience.
The hospitality at Dhawa Ihuru was equally impressive. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and their attentiveness made our stay even more memorable. For instance, the General Manager greeted us warmly every time we crossed paths, always inquiring about our experience at the resort. At the front desk, Elena and Hannah went above and beyond to provide flexible and insightful advice. Thanks to Elena’s help, we were able to join an unscheduled dolphin cruise, which turned out to be an unforgettable experience with the super energetic spinner dolphins. In the restaurant, Eni ensured our dining experience was seamless, while Nish at the bar offered exceptional service.
And, of course, the food was outstanding—abundant, delicious, and full of variety. Every meal was a delight, adding another layer of enjoyment to our stay.
