The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands in North Male Atoll

The experience was impeccable! The butler service was incredibly attentive, and the gradient glass sea was so stunning it left me speechless. Every meal was a delightful surprise. The beach villa offered great privacy, while the overwater villa was wonderfully open, allowing me to lie down and watch the stars fall into the ocean. It's definitely worth a special trip – a perfect vacation.

We spent our honeymoon at The Ritz-Carlton, Fari Islands and had an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless and perfectly curated. We stayed in Ocean Villa 115, which was truly spectacular – waking up to endless shades of turquoise and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was magical. Razaan and I-gie as well as all of the stadf were beyond exceptional. They anticipated every need before we even articulated it. Every interaction felt personal, thoughtful, and genuine – as if the entire team was invested in making our stay perfect. A highlight was the Japanese restaurant, which quickly became our favourite. Ennie made our evenings truly memorable and Sam was the perfect host. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail made every dinner special. We also loved having a sunset drink on the pier – the view, the colours, the calm… absolutely gorgeous. I cannot recommend The Ritz-Carlton, Fari Islands highly enough. It was everything we hoped for and more. We absolutely loved it and genuinely cannot wait to be back.

Spent our 25th Anniversary and 8 unforgettable nights at the Ritz. This resort and staff are next level. Every single employee you meet goes above and beyond. The rooms are so well maintained, luxurious, well stocked and so, so clean! We opted for a sunset beach view villa rather than over the water one and loved having the lounge chairs on the beach. Our Aris Meeha, Pako, was so helpful. He booked our dinners and excursions, and really just took care of anything we needed, including driving us to dinners when we asked. He was super friendly, helpful and had a great personality! The food at all of the restaurants is excellent and varied. Breakfast buffet has every possible option! Loved the spa and our treatments. This resort is not to be missed, don’t second guess it or book somewhere else, it cannot possibly be better than the Ritz! Our only regret is that we didn’t stay 2 more nights! Thank you to Pako and everyone else that helped celebrate our anniversary over and over again!

Every detail of our stay was thoughtfully curated, and the level of care and warmth we received from the entire team made this trip beyond anything we could have dreamed of. The island itself is paradise — crystal-clear water, stunning villas, and world-class dining — but what truly made our stay so special were the incredible people who went above and beyond every single day. A heartfelt thank you to Chef Ayman, Chef Mohammed, and Chef Pedro for the incredible dinners and all the thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Every meal was a work of art, and you could feel the care and creativity that went into every bite. To Mikku, who took such amazing care of us every day at the Beach Club — thank you for your constant kindness, the little treats and surprises that kept us smiling, and for always making our days by the ocean feel extra special. Rasheen made our dinner at Arabesque one of the highlights of the trip — such an incredible server who went above and beyond, even coming by the Beach Club on our last day just to wish us well before we left. Our aris mija, Pako, was an absolute star — attentive, thoughtful, and always one step ahead. From drawing us a relaxing bath to returning twice to make sure our fireplace and jazz music stayed on, he truly made our villa feel like home. Grace greeted us with warmth and kindness every single day — always a friendly smile and a welcoming presence that made the resort feel so inviting. Mango, our wonderful housekeeper, made sure everything was perfect — from the nightly turndown service to her infectious smiles that brightened every evening. A special thank you to Ismail, who gifted us the most beautiful handwoven palm leaf baskets and hats that he made himself during his time off — such a thoughtful and personal gesture that meant so much to us. Mini gave us an unforgettable Maldivian breakfast experience — everything from the flavors to the homemade key chains was just incredible. Vasil was so hospitable on our last day at the Beach Club and made our final dinner such a memorable one. And finally, Mueen, who took care of us on our very first night at Obar — they set the tone for the entire trip with their kindness, surprises, and a dessert recommendation that ended up being our favorite of the week. We truly can’t thank everyone enough for making our honeymoon such a magical experience. Every single team member we met radiated warmth and genuine care. We left the island with full hearts, so many beautiful memories, and a deep appreciation for the incredible team who made it all possible. Even after six visits, this resort does not disappoint - every trip is truly fantastic. Here are my hints and tips for those planning a visit. Boat Transfer or Seaplane: If you have a day flight into Malé, you’ll enjoy stunning views of various islands as you descend, so make sure you book a window seat. I’ve never taken the seaplane for the aforementioned reason, but it is a super quick flight if you opt for it. There can be delays in bad weather, making the luxury boat transfer very attractive (50/60 mins). If you’re lucky, the dolphins will join you for the journey. The boat itself is gorgeous, with the crew always being attentive and welcoming. Light snacks and refreshments are also provided. Sit on the outdoor deck upstairs if the weather is good for some post-flight sunshine and incredible views. Overwater or Beach Villa: You can’t go wrong, as both are exceptional. If this is your first Maldives trip, definitely try an overwater villa as waking up surrounded by the ocean is unforgettable. The beach villa feels very “James Bond”, stepping out directly onto your own stretch of sand. Privacy is respected and while another guest might occasionally stroll past on the beach, it never feels intrusive. I have enjoyed snorkeling from each villa option, and you’ll get different marine life experiences depending on location. The island can get windy and the direction changes seasonally, so you might want to understand which side of the island is calmer before arrival. Villa Amenities: They have thought of everything and this is the only hotel in the world where I bring no toiletries. Everything is Bamford and replenished constantly. Forgot something (like flip flops, a sun hat, sunscreen)? They’ve got it sorted. There is a “proper hairdryer”, great lighting and plenty of mirrors (full length mirrors being on the sliding bathroom doors). The bathroom amenity kit is thoughtfully curated and housekeeping seems to pre-empt what you need before you realise you need it. The level of attention is exceptional. What to Wear: Most people make an effort and you’ll see everything from relaxed linens to cocktail dresses. There is a resort boutique that stocks high-end brands (Zimmermann, Missoni, Frescobol Carioca etc.). After my fourth trip, I stopped packing heels entirely. Flat sandals are the way to go. If heels are your thing, the only restaurants where heels are impractical are Beach Shack and Marina Village restaurants (on the opposite island). All other restaurants are fully floored and the golf carts drop you right at the entrances. Dining Tips: You can’t make a bad choice, as every restaurant is excellent. Breakfast is my favourite ritual of the day and should not be rushed - the buffet is the way to go. The selection is incredible and better value than à la carte. Don’t overlook Beach Shack for dinner. Although it feels like a casual option during the day, the atmosphere changes completely after sunset. The setting is beautiful and food is f
