Reviews
First of all, this is a barefoot island..there’s no concrete, but sand everywhere. The beach amazing and never thought snorkel could be so good only feet away from getting in the water. The resort offers one free snorkel trip every day, but swimming around the island is so good as well.
Bungalows are super nice with good amenities, AC and open air bathroom fitted with quality items (Grohe).
The staff is super nice and helpful.
Buffet is good, we stayed 6 days and food was different each day. There is an a-la-carte restaurant for an additional fee, but I didn’t go there.
Last, the stuff is super friendly and helpful.
Most of the extra are quite pricey, but you are on a remote island after all. You can pay in USD at the end, the rate is close to the intra banking exchange).
There are people checking out at 6am and they get the rooms ready for the next guest immediately, so if you land at Male at 8am, they will check you in as soon as you get on the island.
I chose this resort as I've read good reviews about it.
I booked the airport transfer from Trip.com but was disappointed when the staff didn't go to the new terminal to pick us up and we had to find our own way pass the old terminal to find their assisting counter.
It was a 45 mins speedboat ride to the resort. After arriving, things has gotten better with the service. As I'm down with flu, medication was given by the front desk and dining staff Rofiq and Sana Ullah were extremely helpful with home remedy for sore throat ( ginger and honey) . I want to take this opportunity to thank them both for the great hospitality given.
Despite feeling unwell, I joined some sea sports events like the daily complimentary 1-hour snorkeling trip, did jet-ski and the night snorkeling too. Do make reservations a day before going for these events.
We also had a enjoyable spa treatment at their Spa center .
The food was quite to our liking, with a wide variety of options, and the menu changed for each meal. Even the potato dishes were prepared differently every day.
We had soup with every meal, and I especially loved the carrot, potato, and beef soup one morning.
The service was excellent, and the cleaning was prompt.
The only downside was that there weren't many fish while shore diving; it's more suitable for a relaxing vacation.
The ocean was stunningly beautiful. The turquoise water stretched for dozens of meters from the shore (but remember to bring water shoes!).
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. You didn't even have to ask for anything; they proactively offered everything. Towels were changed twice a day, and they constantly checked if we needed anything like water or coffee. The service was so good that you often don't find this level of attentiveness even in much higher-category hotels.
Breakfasts were fantastic, with everything you could need: pastries, hash browns, made-to-order omelets, eggs, waffles, and pancakes. There was always a wide selection of fruits – watermelon, papaya, two types of melon, pineapple, passion fruit, bananas, and oranges. Breakfast was truly complete.
Dinners were a little less impressive, but that's just my personal preference; I'm not a big fan of everything being in sauces. However, I could always find something to eat.
It was my friend's birthday, and at dinner, we were given a specially decorated table, the entire staff congratulated him, and there was a cake with candles. While we were enjoying dinner, our room was decorated with birthday greetings. I was impressed by how well thought out and coordinated their actions were.
We also received a free upgrade to a water villa. We spent 4 days in a beach bungalow, room 301, and then 3 days in a water villa, room 506. There's a separate restaurant for the villas, which we were also able to visit and did. That was a very pleasant bonus. Thank you. Our vacation was unforgettable, and we will definitely return.
This is simply an incredible hotel for the price.
Disadvantages: The water villas are not equipped with life jackets, only swimming rings. You have to rent life jackets at Diverland if you want to use them. The food is not good, especially the food at the Hiya restaurant, which is very unpalatable.
Excellent location - a beautiful small island surrounded by greenery, 45 from the airport by boat
Super service - cleaning 2 times a day, very clean and everyone is ready to help you
Food - also wonderful and varied, we had more than enough breakfast/dinner
What surprised us most was that at the hotel pier we met: many sharks, a large stingray, a moray eel, a turtle, an octopus and you don't need to go anywhere for this! Although you can go snorkeling every day for free, where they showed us turtles and sharks every time, some other one, not the one at the pier. It's better to take a mask/fins/snorkel with you, otherwise rent - 7 dollars a day only for a mask, we had our own.
As for the rooms/houses -; they are slightly different, we asked to change them upon check-in, they changed them for us. We had room 374, I think the best in its category, a house on the water - an acquired taste.
As a result, a super week of vacation for very reasonable money! Reality exceeded expectations!)
