Sunflower Hotel in St. Pauls Bay

I stayed at the hotel in September 2022.

I used the laundry service, and specifically asked for dry cleaning on a wool sweater. I found the shrunken version of my sweater when I got back to my hotel room. I was not exactly pleased about this. So I took my courage and decided to talk with their staff, hoping I would get some form of compensation back.

The first person that I spoke with told me that the responsibility was shared between me and them. Of course, I asked how I was responsible for the incident, and the answer was so simple that I felt dumb for even asking the question: "hmmmmmm because". He also told me that he had a nephew that the sweater would fit, which at least made me laugh.

The second person that I spoke with, who was chewing his gum and moving it in and out of his mouth (without making bubbles) while he was talking to me, told me to send them an email and that they would reimburse me. I explained to him that I knew I would never get compensated back, and that they could simply ignore me if I were to do this (thus showing my mad foreshadowing skills). At this point, this person slowly turned agressive and would repeatedly tell me to write down my email address. But I stood strong.

The third person that I spoke with, the manager, or perhaps should I say the final boss, told me that he needed a receipt of the sweater. I was impressed by his ability to keep his facial expression neutral while pretending that this was a completely legitimate request. After he repeatedly asked me to trust him and that "he would make sure that I would get reimbursed", I eventually caved in and wrote down my email address.

I have sent them 4 emails in the course of a month, and never got an answer from them. So if you ever stay at Sunflower Hotel, never write down your email address.

Giving only 1 star as the breakfast (very fresh and filling) was the only good thing worth it during our stay! So many wrong things with our room!! When we arrived, our room's ac was NOT WORKING (thankfully a technician arrived and fixed it for us). Wifi was very very slow, ended up using a lot of 3g data instead and there's only one plug to charge all your devices in the room. Sink dripping water on the floor (never fixed even though we notified a staff member, he just told us to put towels so we don't slip on the puddle of water) and shower head was totally broken that I had to go home to shower. Very small pool and overcrowded with noisy children. Wouldn't recommend this place at all unless you're going there for the breakfast hah The attendants/waiters at the dining area were also nice and helpful but other than that, everything was a disaster.

Worst hotel I ever stayed. They claim to have an indoor pool - it was never open. One day I was not allowed to eat breakfast because 'there was no room' while there where 50 empty tables. The room was not very clean, curtains did not close while a light on the balcony stayed on till midnight. Only receive clean towels once after 5 days. Hotel staff did not care for anything, all they can answer is "you have to speak to the manager" while the manager is NEVER available. No apolgoies, no empathy, bad quality and absolutely below value service. I wrote an email with my complaints (because the manager was never there), they just ignored it. Save yourself a lot of frustrations and money: book somewhere else. I would give 0 stars but that's not an option.
