First of all, the tap water in Malta is not drinkable and the hotel does not provide distilled water and asks you to buy. Why? Because they sell a 1.5L bottle for €4.5!
There is a store called Arkadia which is 200 meters away and sells 2L bottles for €0.7
So the hotel sells bottles of water for more than 7 times the price!!!
Then there was the cleaning. We found out that the cleaning person did not clean the toilet or the bathroom. We called reception and the lady at reception lied and told us that the manager has seen the cleaning person clean the toilet and bathroom for us

How can this be a 4 star hotel.

Rooms are like a motel, bed sheets are only one layer above the mattress. Hairdryer is still the wall hanging ones from the 2000s. View is non existent, not like I expected any.

THE POOL IS CLOSED AND NO ONE PUT UP A NOTICE. Ofc no spa, steam room or sauna facilities.

Still don’t see how it’s 4 star?
The breakfast is appalling, no fresh juice or omelette station, yoghurt pot tastes like aged milk and juices are all from concentrate. Only very few choices for breakfast and barely any greens. Ofc all pastries are baked from frozen, nothing fresh made in this breakfast.

Regret booking this place, should have gone to M hotel or somewhere else

I must have been in a different Hotel Valentina considering the other reviews. The rooms are very small and underwhelming - they resemble in terms of quality and design rather a cheap train station hotel. The house keeping was weak, they more or less only made our bed and didn't renew used cups because they just left used cups with half a coffee standing. Also, only occasionally they renewed that small water bottle. Nothing about the breakfast buffet was appealing, the juices just cheap syrups. The roof (!) pool offers no shade, bring your own umbrella. At checkout there was unnecessary and time-consuming discussion about whether I had ordered a return taxi to the airport (which they'd only finally realized once I showed them the confirmation mail from their very hotel mail account). On my hotel invoice they listed three drinks at the hotel bar, which we never visited once. They also didn't have signed bar receipts for these transactions, but kept it all in the invoice until they had figured out their internal issues. Im sure I will have to hunt down my refund for a few weeks. All in all: avoid this hotel all costs when you want to have a trouble free vacation.
