Great hotel situated in a perfect position for visiting Valletta and for access to buses to all parts of the island. The hotel staff are very obliging and helpful. We stayed for five nights and had a very comfortable stay. When we arrived the reception very kindly gave us a twin room as we did not want a double. The breakfast was a good choice of hot or cold choices and a chef to cook your eggs fresh as required. Coffee a bit grainy but the tea was perfect. Swimming pool area looks like still a lot to do. Fitness gym not ready yet. Our room was very clean and comfortable. On Thursday the management host a drinks evening with prosecco and a few nibbles. Nice gesture. Would recommend this hotel. A bit formal but it was OK.

The Phoenicia is a beautiful hotel with a pleasant space for drinks and eating and lovely grounds. We had a nice double room with a balcony, though we did not manage to have sea views. The room was comfortable with a night time turn down service and lots of drawers and closet space if you like to unpack as I do. One downside I noticed, which our friends on the 4th floor also noted was weak water pressure and water that did not get quite hot enough. I think it took about 15 minutes to fill the tub with a slightly more than lukewarm bath. Our friends on the third floor did not have this problem and it may be something in the works as the hotel is being renovated at the moment. The spa was also not available and I think due to open in a few months from now. The staff were very friendly and accommodating even if a little slow. If you are in a hurry, your drink orders downstairs will not come in a hurry. This may be pleasant if your days are less busy than mine were. Same goes for bag collection or changing money. The breakfast was very nice downstairs.
