We stayed at this hotel for 6 days and, unfortunately, were very disappointed with our choice.

We stayed in the ocean-view bungalow. The room was old and heavily worn: the floor was scratched and damaged, the furniture was swollen from humidity and it was cracked. Everything looked outdated and poorly maintained, which made us seriously question whether rooms in such condition should still be offered to guests.

The terrace access deserves a separate mention. Since many people constantly walk along the beach in front of the bungalows, the room is equipped with numerous locks “for safety reasons.” As a result, it was impossible to leave anything on the terrace — every time we left the room, even for just a few minutes, we had to move the furniture in and out. This significantly reduced comfort and negatively affected our overall experience.

Internet: Wi-Fi did not work in the room at all. Internet access was only available in the main hotel building, despite Wi-Fi in rooms being advertised at the time of booking.

Unfortunately, this “experience” ended with illness. The air conditioner is in a poor condition and located directly next to the bed from the right hand side, yet sleeping without it is impossible due to the heat and humidity. Opening the balcony doors is also unsafe because of unrestricted access from outside. As a result, there are simply no comfortable or safe sleeping conditions.

Breakfasts were also disappointing: very monotonous, the same items every day. It was especially surprising to see such a lack of fruit variety on an island where fresh fruit is widely available.

Conclusion: I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who does not want to risk their comfort, health, and overall vacation experience.

We stayed at Villa Anakao in August and had a truly wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. After we returned home, we realized we had accidentally left some jewellery behind in our room. The team at Villa Anakao kindly kept it safe for us and helped us arrange a courier to have it returned.

A special thanks to Patricia Honiss for keeping us updated and making sure everything was handled smoothly — her help and communication were truly appreciated.

I would absolutely recommend staying at Villa Anakao — it's a place where you’re genuinely looked after.

Lovely grounds around the pool and a comfortable room.
Lights left on over night meant an eye mask was needed to sleep well as curtains did not block out light.

A very nice villa located south of Port Louis. Property was very nice, veranda overlooking pool and sea was super relaxing and staff was excellent!

Overall great stay - quit place, right on the beach. Transportation is decent - every 5 min bus to Port Louis - 30 min.
Not a lot of places to eat nearby, however can order dinner(breakfast included - good quality).

really loved the entire villa. We stayed in the outdoor family villa which was pretty, cozy and adorable. The drawing room was a bit dark but room service was prompt and quick and managed to add some LED lights to it. The TV was in working condition but had no channels on it but it wasn't bothering us at all. I would have loved for some more breakfast options but whatever that was present was enough and was satisfying. The room has its own sink, cooking stove, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, everything. The resident dog was adorable and wasn't a problem at all during the entire trip. Rooms are very clean and regular room servicing and cleaning was done, even the clothes we had spread out on our beds were neatly folded. Night time dinner options were good. The chicken spaghetti was absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. Grilled fish and chicken was good too. The manager during the day shift was very professional, understanding and clear with his message communicated to us and was very welcoming and offered us welcome drinks on our arrival. The evening caretaker or manager guy Lukas was really chill and nice guy, had nice convo with him. Overall this villa definitely is worth it and the location is nice. Its sea facing, though without a beach due to rocks but still scenic and beautiful with nice view of sunrise and sunset

We visited this little hotel on our first night in Mauritius and we loved it - great little pool, beautiful view of the sea and you can dip into the sea through the back. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food at the hotel restaurant was delicious. Thank you for having us!
