City Express by Marriott Ciudad De México La Raza in Mexico City

My first City Express hotel by Marriott. Wow, this is a Marriott hotel? After we finally checked in I went to the app to leave feedback. It almost seems like these hotels are not connected to the app for some reason. Perhaps they're not really Marriott hotels, I dont know, I'll have to research this. When we arrived there was a tiny desk with an empty coffee cup and no people around. Beyond the desk was two elevators. We waited for a few minutes and tried to read some signs, but nothing in English. My wife went into the mall to look around but no access to the hotel. Eventually some people come into that area and we asked them where the lobby was. They answered us and said it's upstairs. Luckily they spoke English. The young man checked us in and sent us on our way. We found our room and yikes, what a tiny hotel room. I booked a room for 2 adults through the app and we arrived in this miniature hotel room with one bath towel. I called down for another set of towels and I received only a worn out bath towel. I asked for a hand towel as well, and the staff member seemed surprised at the request. These hotels also don't believe in ice buckets apparently. There's an ice machine we found on the main floor, but no ice buckets. I called and asked the front desk and they replied with a "they don't have any more". The front desk said the only have 5, and thats it. I said, wait did I hear you correcly? The entire hotel has 5 ice buckets? Yes sir, I'm sorry. I won't stay here again. This is not my idea of a Marriott property, perhaps things are changing over there. Also pretty interesting that I received no request to provide feedback on the hotel and I really looked hard when we checked in. Very disappointed and it seems they already know this hotel is below standards. I'd find another hotel close to the airport.
