Small but very comfortable. Only issue I've had is the light that comes in from hallway. But I've stayed several times and will continue to come. Very close to all the tourists spot in downtown CDMX.

This place is LOUD and extremely dirty. See pictures of the ANTS and all the disgusting hair and dirt on the shower and BED. We checked out early and they would not give us a refund.

Good location. Rooms are super small and you can hear everything in the hallways. Better options close by for the price.

This hotel is in need of a little TLC, but it's okay, generally speaking. Housekeeping services seemed to be somewhat lacking - e.g. the floor was not clean or swept properly. The bathroom was incredibly small with hardly enough room for one person to move freely. The bed was comfortable and the bedding and pillows okay.
They have a great rooftop garden and restaurant, serving good local food (including a preset menu at a reasonable price). The rooftop has a good view of the street. The people/staff were friendly, but we didn't interact with them much save for the server at the rooftop restaurant, who was quite pleasant.
Hotel Principal is an old, budget hotel ... charging relatively high prices for budget accommodation and services.

The room was adequate and clean. Not a lot of elbow room though. Staff was friendly and very accommodating, very close to el Zócalo and Calle Madero.

This hotel is located in the historic district, in a perfect location for getting around.
The room had a high ceiling and was small, but didn't feel cramped. The bed was unusually high.
The bathroom also had a high step, so I was nervous about accidentally falling in.
Amenities included shampoo and soap.
There was no treatment, so I recommend bringing your own if you need it. There was a hairdryer.
I gave the cleanliness rating a 4 because I was bothered by the smell from the exhaust vent.

Stayed here for 5 nights in early June. Great location in the historical centre. Close to several sights and attractions. Only 15-20 mins via Uber from the airport. Despite the central location, it still felt quiet. Rates were similar to other hotels but the location was what won me over.
Rooms are standard. Nothing special but nothing to complain about. I actually felt they were bigger than expected after reading other reviews saying they felt small.
The rooftop breakfast terrace is amazing. Great view of the city and a good selection of Mexican breakfast dishes to start your day for only a small extra fee. We paid in advance for all days at check-in.

Try the Pastor Especial if you're really hungry for yummy tacos. It looks really expensive at 126 pesos, but you get a huge delicious pile of Al Pastor meat with 10-12 tortillas (I lost count). They have 8 different fresh salsas to chose from and you can get a regular Al Pastor tacos for pretty cheap, only 18 pesos each. The sopa Azteca was great and the fried tortilla strips stayed nice and crunchy. I would definitely come back to this place.

Ok yeah, not the cheapest but it's in city center and tourist district. Get the pastor especial. The reason it's like 100 pesos is because it's like 8 tacos. The cochinita pibil is excellent, as well. The chipotle salsa is bomb, fresh no canned chilis. Food was damn good, folks were nice to a couple of tired gringos on a long layover.
