Room was very clean, excellent staff. A/C very efficient. Would have liked a refrigerator in room.

Room was clean, staff was courteous, location is close to everything and anything. There are several shops, restaurants, and hangouts nearby. You wan walk and feel safe in this area. I would definitely recommend Hotel Santa Lucia! There is no breakfast, so please correct that on the description of your hotel.

I really wanted to like this hotel because of its location, but my stay was honestly a big disappointment. From the moment I arrived, things felt off. 1st night felt like they gave me the worst room possible, and then switched me to one where the toilet wouldn’t flush, who does that?

The room itself did not match the photos at all. It felt outdated, not well maintained, and definitely not worth the price. The bed was uncomfortable, and the noise from the hallway made it almost impossible to sleep. Cleanliness was also questionable.

I’ve traveled a lot through México, and Mérida usually has great options, but this was honestly one of my most disappointing hotel experiences. I wouldn’t stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Parking is an issue here according to several people and that encouraged me to avoid car rental. Had I read the reviews about this hotel earlier, I would've looked for other options as it was very disappointing, 1st night they gave us the worst room next to a warehouse/service room and you can hear noise throughout the night which was very uncomfortable, then they switched our room to one where the toilet wouldn’t flush which was even worse, and then they finally gave us a half decent room, but overall this is not a good hotel, I wasn't expecting a 5-star experience but this is not even 3, I would say 2 stars.

Great location and rooms are decent/comfortable enough.
Self parking is a pain. Lot is located 4 walk.. if you pay for breakfast is at another hotel.
But u would stay there again.

my favorite hotel to stay in Merida. Staff are very nice and helpful. Pool is awesome. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Cant beat the location

Great location, no elevator, no offer to help with bags and we are almost 80 years old, no blackout curtains so room was too bright from window by stairs and hallway. Heard talking and walking by room most of the night. Good price for location but wouldn't stay here again.

The bed was so comfortable an clean. The breakfast was good. I didnt get time to watch the tv because i spent most of the time in that soft bed. The shower water was hot it was a surprise. I give it a 10 out of 10 i will go back. Both of the customer service treated me with respect an kindness surprise for me in Merida

Great place in Centro
We were looking for a last-minute stay in the old part of town near our walking tours and this was perfect. It is directly across the street from Santa Lucia park and four blocks from the main square.

The check-in was easy and the front desk people very helpful.
Our room was very clean and had two comfortable beds. The shower had plenty of hot water and was great. We only use the air conditioner at night to take out the humidity but it worked great. Had a ceiling fan right over the bed and a rocking chair in the room.

It was next door to one of the most famous restaurants, Chaya Maya and had great taco restaurants down the street also.

10 minutes and either direction where the two best markets.

I think all the rooms are the same, but when you make your reservation, it's best to ask for a room with a view of the pool! I was in the room at the very back, and unfortunately couldn't see the pool at all!
The cleaning lady was kind, and the guy at the reception was also very kind!
The beer at the beer shop next to the hotel was also delicious.

Was quite nice, the place was awesome and very clean. It's in the middle of the center.

Just stopped for a drink, but had some small plates. Super nice staff. Mayan dishes, cool courtyard and awesome mural.

Friendly and engaging staff make this place a pleasure to eat in. The quality of the food was excellent. Not fussy or elaborate, but the ingredients were prime and the taste very good. There is a choice of seating inside, or in an open-air courtyard with fans to keep you cool. The WiFi worked well. Good prices. I can't give it 5 stars because although the decor was unique and interesting, it was a little tired compared to other establishments close by, and I wasn't really feeling the plastic chairs added anything. However, you won't be dissapointed by the food and service.

This is 1.5 stars room, so be aware that condition is barely satisfactory (bathrooms are outdated with questionable cardboard-like doors). If you are looking for the best budget place, this probably is not it, but it can serve as a sleepover place. On a positive note, they do have air conditioning in their rooms. But do not be fooled by the photos of the swimming pool; it is small, and more of a fountain then swimming pool. It is next to the reception and dining tables, so not very usable unless you are extrovert without a care in the world, having previously drank few shots of tequila and you will take a dip no matter what. Sad fact is that for a little bit more (10-15eur/person) you can find much better rooms with new furniture and nice bathrooms if you look for hotels in 200-300m radius.
If you can't find anything, then this will have to do.

Even if you are on the budget you will be sorry if you choose this place for stay. We booked triple room, 2 bed mattrace was good, solid, firm bit 3rd was old and you could feel every sprung. But that was not a biggest problem. Shower and water pressure is extremely low, you need ages to take shampoo of your hair and skin. Talking about hair we found long hairs in mattrace. And if you go in the middle night in bathroom you can encounter coackroach. There is a pool but we didn't use it.
Parking (120 pessos) has to be payed separately so price went up to 760MX. I would rather give 500MX more for a far better accommodation in this town. When we entered room there was no toilet paper and towels, so we needed to go back to reception. I think room should be checked before they issue keys to a guest.

Hotel Mucuy is a Work-In-Progress. It is an older 2-story building that lacks an elevator, Guests with mobility issues should book a room on the ground floor.
Hotel Mucuy offers a well-maintained pool, which is nice after a day in the hot Yucatan sun.

Moreover, Hotel Mucuy is a clean and, in my experience, safe property with 24-hour receptionist. The property entrace is secured at 12-midnight.

It does offer a small, but good kitchen that offers a hot breakfast.

Daily housekeeping with clean sheets and towels are included. Wi-Fi is decent. It could/should be upgraded.

Hotel Mucuy is in an excellent location. It is located within a 5-15 minute walk (I'm a 71-year old Boomer with arthritic ankles and knees. I check my times with the stopwatch feature on my Casio wristwatch).
Much, if not most, of the "must-see" venues are within a 5-20 minute walk:
El Corredor Gastronomico 47/Meridas Culinary Corridor;
Mercado Lucas de Gavez;
Parque de Santa Lucia;
Parque La Plancha; Merida Zoo, etcetera.

However, Bus Progreso; ADO and (MID) Merida International Airport are a 20-30 minute walk. I recommend hiring InDrive, Uber or Taxi for those longer trips.

All things considered; Hotel Mucuy is an exceptional value for solo-travelers, couples, families, groups, business travelers that are self-contained, extended-stay travelers, and holiday travelers foe events such as La Nocha Blanca.

Hotel Mucuy is a work in progress. This is my second stay at Hotel Mucuy and I see the improvements.
The staff is Professional, polite, yet personable. If you need something, just ask the staff members and if it is possible they will get it for you.
Affordable, Clean, convenient, and daily maid-service. Very good breakfast options, I order the omelette with fresh fruit, fresh orange juice and coffee.
Best of all, Hotel Mucuy is located with in a 15 minute walk to much of Centro. And there are plenty of buses, taxis and Uber nearby.

Small dirty rooms with uncomfortable beds.
Should have been a warning that most hotel were booked during Xmas and new year and they had many rooms.
The pool water had a green color so assumed it was not to be used
The TV did not work and only had an antenna so did not complain!
They did not clean the room for the 3 days we were there or pick up the garbage or ask to exchange towels.
AVOID THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU ARE IN DESPERATE NEED
