Hotel Unknown in Merida

A fun concept and the design was great. Terrific service!! Needs refreshing i.e. towels are stained and a little bit shredded. Our room had a large stain right above the bed and the plunge pool-which was the big draw in the first place-wasn’t very clean. I would definitely recommend-but I’d also recommend the owners bring a little rigor to the upkeep.

The hotel was well-located and the staff were kind. Unfortunately, the shower drain was not properly installed and sewage gases would fill the whole hotel room. The hotel cleaners tried to mask the odour by liberally spraying a room deodorizer. The pool, although shallow, was perfect for cooling off.

Great staff. Enormous amount of mosquitoes, wish there was something done about that or atleast offer or sell repellant.

Breakfast included is also a plus & location also.

I would come back but with a lot of mosquito repellent 😅

The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I highly recommended this please if you’re visiting Merida however is not very close to centro but a nice walk!!!

We had a fantastic room with a private little yard and pool that we loved - the breakfast was great and the staff was so nice . We also got massages which were perfect . The hotel pool and grounds were also really nice !

It was a very pleasant stay, enjoyed the location, atmosphere, large rooms, and friendly service.

Upon arrival my wife and I were hesttant on our choice as it is a 15 min walk from the central square (where most things are). The pool seemed small and we were just weary on our choice. HOWEVER, after staying here for a week we have come to LOVE this little quaint hotel. The 15-20 min walk was not so bad as we had thought. We always saw something new and took in the achetecture of all the old buildings and painted facades. The pool although seemed small and only has 4 chairs grew to be a nice size as we were the only ones in it when we went. You feel like you are in an oasis the way they have surrounded the pool with jungle plants that are at least 12 feet tall. If you have an option to get the breakfast included, DO IT!. they start with a fruit and yoghurt platter and then you get your choice of egg style (fried, scrambles, mecican (amazing)) with a choice of meat. Bottomless Coffee is also included. Many morning we either had just the fruit and youghurt.
The staff are incredibly friendly and went out of their way for us when I asked if there was a mini fridge we could rent for our room. (You see, water has to be consumed in a bottle and I like it cold, not to mention beer and some snacks). They do not have fridges available (which is a strike of a star for us, as I feel it is needed here). However they did find us a cooler and there is are many convinience stores within a block to get your water, beer, ices, coolers and snacks).
What I appreciated the most were the quiet dark nights where we slept peacfully without hearing traffic, sirens or other guests coming back to their room in the middle of the night.
We would stay here again for sure....... Just wished they had mini fridges in the rooms.

Feels like a second home for me. It is my third time staying here and the staff is terrific..

The staff are amazing. The location is great. The rooms are spacious, clean and well cared for. We love the small garden and pool! The breakfast is filling, the coffee is hot and the staff are wonderful
