Reviews
pros
• we loved the pool, was usually empty so had it to ourselves. surrounded by greenery and relatively clean (some leaves floating but it is to be expected)
• nice room, with a separate living area with a sofa and coffee table. huge bed as well
• daily housekeeping, the room was well maintained
• such a peaceful location just outside the centre, felt like an oasis with only a quick 15min walk to the historic centre
cons
• breakfast - they provide a light breakfast, but we are vegan, which i understand is socially annoying, but we did kindly ask if we could swap the eggs with just some bread and jam or something similad. the person working that day refused, and said if we wanted bread/something else we would have to pay extra. we found this strange considering bread is generally cheaper than eggs, and it doesnt hurt to be accommodating, especially if they already have the ingredients in the kitchen (and we paid for a room with breakfast)! we noticed the eggs came with beans and tortilla chips, so even if they just gave us this it would have been nice (we asked on the last day and they did give us some tortilla chips). otherwise we were only able to have fruit and coffee - i recommend nearby vegan cafe 'muchas vidas' for other plant based people looking for an amazing breakfast
• there is no fridge in the room - we found that with the warm weather we would have liked to be able to buy a large jug of water and keep it cold. we ended up having to constantly buy smaller bottles of cold water which wasnt ideal
• water pressure of shower is quite low
• a lot of mosquitos - bring bug spray!
Breakfast included is also a plus & location also.
I would come back but with a lot of mosquito repellent 😅
The staff are incredibly friendly and went out of their way for us when I asked if there was a mini fridge we could rent for our room. (You see, water has to be consumed in a bottle and I like it cold, not to mention beer and some snacks). They do not have fridges available (which is a strike of a star for us, as I feel it is needed here). However they did find us a cooler and there is are many convinience stores within a block to get your water, beer, ices, coolers and snacks).
What I appreciated the most were the quiet dark nights where we slept peacfully without hearing traffic, sirens or other guests coming back to their room in the middle of the night.
We would stay here again for sure....... Just wished they had mini fridges in the rooms.
