Great hostel! I stayed three times (before and after each trek I did). Met some great people including the girl I ended up trekking with. The food in the restaurant is quite good too.

Loved my stay here. Only was here for one night in June but had checked out the hostel due to some friends having stayed here beforehand in April already a couple of times. The vibe and energy of this place is great, very inviting, warm, and peaceful which I appreciated a lot. It may me a tiny bit more expensive than some other hostels buuut I contribute that to the pool which is nice, and it is the cleanest place I’ve stayed in in Nepal, with good facilities, very comfortable beds, amazingly friendly staff and I’ve had the luck to be able to tackle along to the city tour Kish, their travel agent, did back in April. Very much a wonderful tour - he gave some insight into typical Nepali life, we did a little sightseeing and he brought us to a few nice local recommendations including a really great, hidden gem for samosas. Would absolutely recommend.

The staff here is really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the vibes were good. It’s not too loud and there’s lots of nice common spaces to hang.

The hostel is located centrally but in a quite area. It has nice areas to socialize and the pool is just a wonderful place to relax in the Kathmandu heat after a long trek. The restaurant food is tasty and availabe for good prices. The manager Kish is extremly friendly and helpful, don't miss the free walking tour around Kathmandu. I recommend this hostel 100%!

I first came and stayed at Alobar with a friend for 5 days when we first arrived in Nepal, then came back solo on my way out. It was a great place to start my trip and to be a base. The facilities were quality and clean, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was comforting to come back at the end of my trip. I’d highly recommend!

So clean and beautiful with always hot and steaming showers (very important in the winter!!). More than anything, the staff at Alobar1000 are incredibly helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and supportive of everything and anything I needed or had questions about. Such a wonderful experience and I so hope to come back again soon.

I really enjoyed staying at alobar1000 hostel in Kathmandu. the workers at the front desk are very helpful. They love to help. The hostel gets cleaned every day. The hostel has a nice size of a swimming pool. I loved to stay there. I’m giving this great hostel 5 stars.

Absolutely crap! They asked us to check out at 10:30 while the standard check out timings are 12 all around the world! Extremely disappointed, this was my 5th visit I suppose and it was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant on the management’s part to ask us to check out early for them to prepare the room for their next arrival! I immediately checked out in utter disbelief! This is not done! Having said I work at a hotel front desk as well, experienced in dealing with such situations, this was below my expectation. Every-time I visited, I had a good experience but never coming back here again! Thanks for nothing Alobar team -Ayush Sharma

I’ve been here for few months. Everything is perfect. All of stuffs here are super enthusiastic and warm. You can always see their smile faces. They change my bed and clean the room frequently. I wanna say thank you for every one of them. You made me feel like home. 💕💕. Definitely a great choice if you looking for a nice and comfortable place to stay in Kathmandu!

The roomservice was amazing. It was super nice to recover from our Manaslu and Tsum Valley trek. The bed were comfy, the service and food were super nice.

The place is great. But the foods are not spicy enough as it should be. The price is okay. Overall nice place to eat korean food. I recommend you guys to eat bibimbap there. It’s really tasty.

Cook for yourself or order it from the kitchen, both ways it is great. Had Korean food for dinner for 3 and paid 4400 which is around 44 usd. The food is cheap and is good. The only downside is crammed up ambiance. But, fairly big for a place like Thamel. The nicest thing, it has parking.
