Our room, Lola, is a work of art and so very spacious, with all the amenities to create a very comfortable stay. The view from the balcony is quite nice, and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the road. Antonio, and the entire staff, are very welcoming and helpful with any request. We could not have selected a more pleasant location which is within walking distance of several great restaurants and wine bars.

Me and my mom had so delightful and relaxing stay in Palacete Chafariz D'El Rei, we wish to come back there as soon as possible! Service is most welcoming and warm, hotel and it's rooms are absolutely stunning (we stayed in Amaya-room with the balcony and riverside view) and breakfast is unique every morning, prepared just for us and using local ingredients. Thank you Xavier & CO, it was pleasure to visit your hotel and got to enjoy your amazing service!

A lovingly restored old palace which keeps its heritage but nods to current-day comfort. The staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast is an added treat. The only thing we found is that the surrounding area is safe but a little shabby … a minor drawback. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it anyone who is looking for authentic charm with a huge splash of luxe.

This is not like any hotel I have ever stayed at. This was more like going home and visiting family. Tiago and Chevier (probably spelled wrong) went out of their way to take care of us. We traveled far and were exhausted when we arrived before 10am. They quickly offered us breakfast while we waited for our room to be cleaned. They granted us entry to the room quickly. This is an older large home converted to a hotel with rooms. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the front facing suite. It was comfortable and had every amenity possible. I would stay here again and again. The breakfast was amazing and fresh juice and pastries can’t be beat. Breakfast on the terrace was like being in a movie. I chose the ride from the airport to the hotel by the driver service that they offered as I have read other drivers have had trouble finding it. It was a great experience all the way around.

A stunning unusual historic quirky masterpiece of a hotel. The service provided by the staff was uncommon and outstanding, never had such concerned and helpful staff in a hotel. The included breakfast was phenomenal. Really the best that Lisbon has to offer. the Alfama neighborhood is the perfect location. But be prepared for a walking and climbing and walking and climbing, and walking and climbing.

Music is nice, that's all the good thing here.
Food under average.
Service, crap. Why, the old man at the beginning give you bread and water but didn't tell you it's cost 4 and 3.8€! 3.8 for one 50cl water! And after asked another lady to take away the bread, we didn't take wine because it's crazy expensive and we're students, their attitude is really "friendly". Food took them one hour to do! And took them one year just to print the check!
