We had read previous reviews so kind of knew what to expect this is my feedback. We stayed in 102 and 104, noise from the loose road grid outside was awful! It is a very busy road. Internet/wifi dropped out at random times, annoying when trying to listen to the radio to block out road noise. They still need to put kettles and tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. Overall great accommodation but some glitches with description of property. We booked this apartment as it was in downtown Funchal for the New Year’s Eve fireworks. It was for our family of four adults, ourselves,our daughter and her boyfriend. it was listed as a one bedroom apartment, however on arrival it was actually one large studio apartment with an archway leading from the kitchen living area...

We had a wonderful holiday in Madeira which was helped by the Hotel Girassol. The location is just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops. Excellent smallish and stylish hotel, boutique like but not pretentious. Very Helpful, friendly staff. Quiet street but 2 min walk into tourist spots. It's a beautiful resort. The apartments are superbly located and very well equipped. We had a truly stunning view of Funchal, the harbor, and all the boats. A fantastic, luxurious apartment, delicious food on the golf course, a wonderful day at the spa, and a lovely afternoon tea at the hotel. It was fantastic, and we will definitely be back.

We have stayed at Palheiro Village 4 times in the condos. We fell in love with Palheiro upon seeing the view of Funchal from our balcony. Truly unforgettable. The condos are lovely, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The balconies are the highlight with their views. The Golf Club is delightful for drinks and food. Highest possible recommendation!

We love Palheiro Village. This was our 4th stay. We always stay here in Madeira. Our hearts fell in love with the view from our balcony on our first visit. Now, Palheiro Village feels like home.

The hotel's location is pretty good, and they offer a buffet breakfast which we really enjoyed. The beds in the room were comfortable. On the downside, there was an unpleasant smell in the hotel corridors. It seems like there might have been a leak at some point, and the carpets absorbed it, making them hard to replace. The furniture in the room was also quite old.

Very happy with my stay here. Room was spacious with nice private sea view balcony. Kitchenette was a bonus. The deep bathtub was most welcome after a day of sightseeing. I stayed here a few years back and looking forward to returning for Christmas. Yes it’s furnishings are dated and isn’t to everyones taste but still seems to be clean from peoples feedback. Staff were excellent including the restaurant staff. However evening food was well below average. A couple of nights it was difficult to find anything that looked pleasant and I’m not picky. Room was adequate, could do with some tlc. Gardens and swimming pool are good. Evening entertainment was hit or miss. Monday, Tuesday and Friday was a hit, Bus stop within 2 minutes of the hotel.

We stay at the Porto Bay twice a year and the breakfasts have never let the hotel down. Plenty of hot and cold choices including pastries and various fresh fruits. The stafff are wonderful. They're so attentive a you can linger as long as you want, over ample cups of coffee

On the whole, it’s a really great hotel at the price. The rooms are spacious and clean.The staff were really helpful in organising things for my partners birthday and really went the extra step to make our trip special. Can’t fault the service. My only gripes are that you can’t set the you can’t set up the aircon yourself in the rooms and the gym is limited.

We were delighted that the Hotel has retained the same levels of service, and we had an enjoyable 2 week holiday on a bed and breakfast basis. We had already stayed in Funchal in 2024, and while we enjoyed it, it wasn't at this hotel. This experience was fantastic, with the hotel staff being incredibly attentive. The room was spacious and had a sea view. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Funchal, which we didn't need as we rented a car, but it's definitely a valuable amenity.

With a spectacular view! But the all-inclusive package really isn't worth it. Only for those who want to drink. The food is terrible, the same food on two different days, only one dish varied. Since we were in Madeira, there was no typical food except at check-in, not even a banana from Madeira for fruit. The sheets in the room were all stained. It doesn't look like a Pestana hotel!
