My stay at Shilla Stay Mapo during this Seoul trip completely exceeded my expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend it! The hotel's location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from Gongdeok subway station, making transfers between multiple lines incredibly convenient

The room isn't small; two of us could lay out two suitcases on the floor and still have plenty of space. We stayed for 3 days, and they cleaned the room every day. The only downside is that it's not soundproof

Honestly i read many not great reviews about this hotel but went i am actually here it is not bad at all! The room size is perfect not too small not too big. Everything is clean and i had a good night sleep

The breakfast was really good; we had it all four mornings. The gym on the top floor was great, but I was too busy each day to use it. The room was cleaned daily, but it wasn't spotless

Since I was with my dad and daughter, pushing a stroller made it a bit more inconvenient. I was very satisfied with the breakfast. The worst part was how cold Korea was; I came back with a cold

Getting to popular areas like Hongdae and Myeongdong is a breeze. Plus, with convenience stores and restaurants right downstairs, all your dining and entertainment needs are easily met

They allowed us for early check in as we arrived early morning, it was very helpful for us because we didn’t have to wait till 3PM to rest while we were already tired from an overnight flight! Thank you Shilla Stay Seodaemun

The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The hotel is in a great location, not too far from Myeong-dong, right next to a subway station, and surrounded by convenience stores and food spots

I had dinner at the hotel lounge and bar, and the food was pretty good too. Everyone I interacted with, from check-in to check-out, was so nice. The view from my room was beautiful, especially at night

I had an incredible stay at Shilla Stay. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I didn’t have an adapter for Korea, and they kindly lent me one to use, which I really appreciated

It can be a bit noisy because it's right by a main road, but everything else is fine. I used the foreigner discount, and the price was acceptable

Super close to the Seodaemun exit, and it's just one more crosswalk to get to another exit with elevator. Staff are very friendly and helpful, highly recommended!

Staff are very kind and professional i feel very comfortable when i check in. And the hotel is very close to the train and easy to find it.

Having stayed at the nearby Four Points by Sheraton for the subsequent two days, I can confidently say that Shilla's service and attention to detail surpassed that of the Four Points. Breakfast was also quite extensive

I had read reviews prior to my arrival, so I knew it was a hotel established in 2014 and was prepared for the rooms to be on the smaller side with somewhat dated decor

The room was indeed a bit small and slightly close to the railway. However, my overall stay experience was otherwise quite acceptable

The room was spacious, and the service was great. Even when we didn't request housekeeping, they still delivered fresh towels and water. There are power outlets next to the bed, so no need for an adapter

The room was spacious, and the transportation nearby was very convenient with Metro Line 2. It's right next to Lotte Duty-Free Shop, and Myeongdong is just a 7-8 minute walk away. There are convenience stores nearby too

The hotel's location is excellent, right behind the duty-free shop and close to the subway station, making it very convenient for getting around. I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again when I visit Seoul

Pros: The location is excellent. There's an underground passage right outside that leads directly to the subway station. It's right next to the Lotte Hotel, and it's not too far to walk to Myeongdong

A bit cold and noisy from the window. Luggage storage is limited to 12 hours. I enjoyed shampoo (smells really nice). Wi-fi is available only in rooms (20th-30th floors), not at the reception

Cons: The bed was a bit wobbly and not very big. The room faced the road, and the windows weren't very soundproof, so it was quite noisy with protests on the weekend

the hotel was a conveniently located, walkable distance to gyeonnbokgung, insadong and bukchon hanok village. and the staff was friendly and informative. willing to stay here again when visiting seoul next time!

The room quality really matches the price. Not super big, but everything is clean and tidy. The decor isn't old-fashioned, and there are no strange smells. Overall, it's very comfortable

My favorite business hotel. The room is very clean and quite. It has reasonable price. Not cheap but not very expensive.(around $150) I strongly recommend this hotel.

The hygiene was impeccable, absolutely spotless, and the service was beyond excellent – so attentive! It was a really great stay.

However, the entrance downstairs is small; you have to take the elevator up to the 8th floor to reach the lobby

The hotel also has a gym and a pool available, which I unfortunately didn't get to use this time. The room itself is very spacious. The king-sized bed is huge, easily big enough for two people

The hotel is generally clean and located in the Yongsan e-commerce district, which is relatively quiet. However, transportation isn't very convenient as you have to walk a bit to catch a bus or subway

Service and check in was outstanding and easy. Facilities very clean but had a small issue of the shower leaking into the room foyer. Notified staff upon check out and they were very attentive. Overall a 4.5 stay.

If you want a place close to Itaewon and the night life this hotel is perfect. 5 minutes by walk from the first club, beautiful entrance

Just one thing to know, if you come with a friend, the barthroom is with glasses and not wall just separated from the room by a curtain, so if you want more intimacy this is maybe not the perfect place for you

There's also many boutiques for shopping lovers. A medical center with an international health for foreigners. You can find anything you need in this area. I highly recommand this Hotel !

This is the second time that I stay in this hotel it’s always clean and it’s close to shopping areas and good restaurants

He allowed us to check in earlier as we arrived from our early morning flight. Situated in a fantastic area in Itaewon, we had immediate access to trendy restaurants, nightlife, and world-class shopping

Got caught when the lights turned off suddenly leaving bathroom in pitch darkness, potentially dangerous as guest may knock into things, slip and fall. No place to hang towels, no mirrors outside the bathroom

Great service with friendly staff, clean and well-maintained facilities, and delicious food. The overall experience was enjoyable and satisfying. I would gladly return and recommend this place to others.

Staying in parties of 3, towel have to be requested everytime after housekeeping, complimentary drinks on for 1 day instead of the staying period. Amenities all have to be given upon requested

Has to request for an extra towel to be used as a floor mat. By the way, the above amenities may be purchased at the counter for KRW1000 or so

Nice hotel with large room. Room is tidy and clean. Location is near many convenient stores, coffee shop, Sinseoldong MRT station, bus station, and pharmacy. Will stay here again for next trip to Seoul.

Nice hotel near a metro station. Large room with lights, aircond and TV controlled by a single remote. Queen sized bed is comfortable. Rooms are made up daily, with 2 bottles of water, coffee and tea

It really felt luxurious to me, despite the price! It was clean, spacious, easy to find and the staff were friendly. It’s located super close to a couple of metro stations and a mainline train station

The room was much bigger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel also offers an airport shuttle service; you can ask the front desk to arrange it for you.

Just on the other side of the road are multiple convenience stores too! I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Seoul

It's only a two-minute walk downstairs to the Lotte Duty Free Shop, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. If you're here for shopping, staying here is incredibly convenient, as everything is close by

It was raining when we visited, and the hotel even had umbrellas available at the front desk. The room itself was clean and tidy. The bathroom was a bit small, but the hotel's location is absolutely fantastic

Excellent location. City and shopping centre. One single big bed room is triangular in shape that even cannot open travel case !!!! Western breakfast is terrible. Coffee no milk. Food and service is not good.

The hotel is right by the main street; you enter through the front door, take the elevator up to the 10th floor for check-in, and then go down to your assigned room floor

We had a great stay at k guesthouse Dongdaemun. The amenities are nice. The breakfast was OK. With what you paid, it was really worth the money. If you are on a budget, this is a good place to stay..

They advertise free breakfast, which is literally just cereal and toast bread everyday with orange juice and milk. Other than that it was fine, cheap

The restroom didn’t have proper exhaust. The wallpaper on the walls were peeling. Overall just misleading with the pictures they have online

The cleanliness and ambiance of the place is good. We barely even hear other people’s voices inside our room and even at the lounge area

A very warm floor heating especially during winter season. Highly recommended if you are looking for a warm and cosy place after a long walk out in the cold winter. Trash and towels were changed and clean up everyday

It is clean, cosy, and comfortable. Huge locker, big enough for all my stuff. En suite bathroom and another available incase the ensuite is in use by a room mate. The sound proofing is also surprisingly good

The staff are friendly and will help any way they can, also they are understanding and forgiving. I keep messing up the right place to take me shoes off, but they are well humoured about my mistakes

The location was excellent , close to Myeongdong shopping street. I requested a late checkout and this was possible for an extra fee, which was perfect for me since I sleep till late

The air conditioning in the room could be improved, for me it was very hot (25 degrees inside) when the air conditioning was on, making it a bit difficult to fall asleep

The location is just 3 minutes from Yeoksam Station (Line 2) Exit 3. It is very suitable for people who looking for simple stay in Gangnam area

Bathroom is also very narrow and no bidet but the water heater temp is easily controlled. Rooms have a mini fridge, coat rack, blower, and hair iron. I enjoyed staying here for my winter trip

Heating is centralized so I requested a room with a window in case it gets too hot. There’s a weighing scale on the 4th floor and you can also borrow a luggage scale from the info desk

This time I came to Korea and stayed directly near Myeongdong. I can only say it was super convenient! The room, though small, had everything I needed. The price was very affordable

While convenient, the building itself is old and houses other businesses that often leave large bags of trash at the staircase landings, or have tenants that smoke in the stairwell and make the climb with your luggage even arduous

The location is very convenient as it’s very close to seoul station. The room is small but decent for 2 for a short trip. However, the room has a very weird smell and random puddles appear on the floor (?)

The hotel rooms are really small and the walls are rather thin. However, the floor and sheets were clean, the toilet did not smell and the general cleanliness of the room was very good

The entrance of the building looks demolished, and the stairs that lead up is dirty and smells like cigarettes. There are people smoking along the roadside as well

Location is excellent, right in front of exit 13 of seoul station. Do note that there is no elevator, will need to carry your luggage up to 3rd/4th floor

Very cool guesthouse in one of the hill-y neighborhoods of Seoul. I was able to walk from Seoul Station to the guesthouse in about 25 minutes and was greeted on arrival and shown around the property

A place of respite in the middle of a busy city. The place is full of beautiful and quirky decorations adorned by the owner lady who is an artist herself who studied traditional Korean art

This stay, I found a used mask deep under the bed, and there were many black spots (some mold, some stains) and cobwebs on the window frame and walls. The TV cabinet/storage unit was also a bit dirty and old

I've booked this place many times. The location is great, but there's no elevator.

Aside from being a strategic location, the staffs are friendly and accommodating.

I was put in a very small room that was really dirty and smelled bad. There were strange stains on the toilet paper. I wrote and asked to be moved to another room, and they did move me, for which I am very grateful

There's a simple kitchen in the hotel, no stove for cooking, but it has a microwave and water dispenser for instant noodles. The room also has a small fridge, perfect for chilling a few fruits and drinks

Quiet location surrounded by many interesting galleries and boutiques and near some major temples and parks. In the evening, near Jongo-3-ga station many food stalls serve wonderful, affordable Korean cuisine

We stayed in a double room, which was slightly cramped for travelers with large luggage, but considering the price and overall conditions, it was still a very good choice
