Pierre & Vacances Resort Terrazas Costa del Sol in Manilva

The good :
-Very good location. It also felt very safe inside the locked gates.

-Dogs are welcome. And some greenery around suitable for a quick morning walk.

-The swimming pool.

-Great view of the sea and Gibraltar from the balcony.

-Washing machines and dryers on site.


The bad:
-Upon entering the room, there was a stuffy, unpleasant smell. On the dinner table, there was a broken door and its screws...?

-Noisy. We stayed here in the low season, and not many apartments were occupied. Still, it was rather noisy. When the lady in the apartment next to us was on her balcony smoking and on the phone, we could hear every word, and the smoke came into our apartment. I can't imagine what it's like if all apartments were occupied around us.
Also, when people were shouting in the swimming pool or just passing by outside talking, you could hear everything. I would recommend bringing earplugs.

-No light in the kitchen. It was pretty dark when cooking.

-The dishwasher didn't clean well. There was still food on the plates after washing.

-The floor was ice cold. We bought slippers to be comfortable.

-Outside lighting varied from poor to non existent. To go to our apartment (building 7), you need to go down 3 flights of stairs. It was quite hazardous to walk in the stairs at night. A flashlight is needed.

-No electrical outlet beside the bed (only on one side).

Conclusion:
All in all, we did have a good stay here. But I wouldn't dear go back in the high season.

Arrived very late - found it difficult to find entrance in the dark but once I did Receptionist let me in and was very helpful. Enjoyed my stay. Quiet due to time of year. Staff friendly. Pools looked great but didn't get to have a swim as only available from 10am and I was up and out early. Poolside bar and restaurant available at set times- didn't use this. Parking on site was 5 euros a night but safe to park outside on road so did that. Apartment very private with own patio and garden area to relax in. Quite spooky returning late at night as so quiet and no lights in apartment block. Free Wifi. Link to messaging service with Reception but none of my enquiries were ever answered so easier to just walk to reception and ask! Easy access to main road and short drive to nearest beach - beach in Manilva itself ( Dequesa) was excellent and nice and quiet too. Excellent value for money and would definitely stay here again.

Lovely break
Had a wonderful break here. Reading reviews about ants I bought spray on my first shop so it wasn't too bad a problem despite being ground floor. Lovely pool and lifeguard makes sure that people don't reserve and dont return so you can always get a chair whatever time of day. Spacious apartment with a modern look - had everything we needed. Lots of kids entertainment in evenings but it started too late for our kids! There are a lot of stairs in the complex so if you get a flat in the wrong area there might be a lot of walking steps - would advise messaging hotel in advance if need step free access!

Everything is fine, except for a high deposit (€200) and an extra €5 per night for parking inside.

Superb hotel with magnificent views of Gibraltar. Well-equipped apartment, spacious and clean. Holiday village with swimming pools suitable for all ages. Very satisfying stay

To start with the best and unique selling point, its view. That is if you get an apartment that has a good angle on the shore and sea. Where else can you get this kind of view with a bonus that one can see Gibraltar and Northern Africa. The 1+2 bedroom apartments are spacious enough for 5 persons and offer convenience. Temperatures are really good, we have not used the air-conditioning (mid July) since there seems to be frequently a cool breeze. Layes on a hilly surrounding, it's very quite and somewhat remote to shops, entertainment etc. Personally, I liked that although a (rental) car is very much recommended to visit place and do your (groceries) shopping.

There is a spacious fridge and cooking facilities are okay. Albeit the cooking inventory is somewhat limited. We were missing some essential cutlery etc. Staff is friendly and helpful, queries are usually swiftly answered and no-nonsense. However, the reception can be really busy at times.

It's a great resort. High standard of the apartments and the location of the hotel is half not bad. We had a wonderful time during our 2 weeks holidays in Andalusia. Highly recommended.

Apartment clean, spacious and well equipped with beautiful views of Gibraltar. Complex nicely laid out. Staff friendly, professional and very helpful.

Only downside was the shuttle bus to the beach wasn't running due to the covid restrictions.

Will definitely be back 👍
