Hotel Plaza del Castillo in Malaga

Service was bad. People in the counter had not the best attitude and gym was terrible down in the parking lot.

The staff were extremely kind and I don’t mean for this review to reflect their service at all as I’d give them a 5. To begin, I can’t look over the fact that the hotel is in an industrial area, has a very poorly laid out gym, and is impossible to access without a car. Next, the hotel makes various claims on their website which are simply untrue or lack full disclosure such as, laundry service (costs 20 euros for a small bag and they do it for you over the course of two days), a gym (which closes at a certain hour but isn’t noted on the website), and soundproof rooms (I could hear my neighbour using the toilet!). The rooms were clean for the most part but there were obvious areas that are not cleaned whatsoever such as the blinds (almost moldy), and shoe prints with dead bugs all over the walls. Also, we booked two rooms there and between the two, the beds, showers, and amenities were completely different, even at the same price range. There were also various other complaints such as a missing lock on the bathroom window which means someone could just open the window and watch you shower, and missing locks on the bathroom doors (literally missing. There are holes under the door handles where someone in the room could easily peep through while you do your business). Finally, the fridge barely worked and the door on it wouldn’t close unless slammed. The only reason it’s getting 2 stars and not 1 from me is because the service was perfect. Overall, I would not book again.
